Summary: Mass media actually impacted on human’s thinking and mindset. The video made a great impression on me to show us the fact about the black actors and address who took part in the entertainment many years ago, it was rare to see a good icon about them. At that time, black people who had dreamt about their acting career were hard to be recognized as a normal individual that was just normal like anybody else. One of the biggest reasons that made them not to be respected,unhonored and unappreciated is just because they are black people. Time passes and the world has changed, we can not turn a blind eye to racist problems, and can not be manipulated through films which can not express enough a person’s qualities and possibility. The video wants us to think about the voice that we may hear and think outside the box for people who “share their own story” and not so far in the future the black people can identify their power and valuable pieces to society and the world.

After feeling safe and sound in a strange environment, he untied the blindfold and surprisingly realized that he was standing on a tiny island. Day by day, from dusk till dawn he kept remembering about getting the reward up to 100.000 $ of Mr.Best if he could finish living on this tedious island for 1 month. 

Half a month had passed then suddenly in an early morning he nearly saw a floating bottle which had something inside and decided to pick the bottle up then opened it. Unexpectedly, the thing inside the bottle was a voucher !. “Hm,this ridiculous paper will make me frustrated? Ha, I have been living on this ocean cruise for half a month, it’ll be fine”, he thought. 

Soon enough, he read it out loud and couldn’t believe what was right in front of his eyes. “FREE TACOS”, “Oh no, Mr.Best got me, he already knew that tacos are one of the signature foods in my hometown, a tasty food that i could eat everyday because my mom was such an impressive chef !, I miss my family so much,hmu hmu”. 

He almost bursted into tears when reading the voucher, so happy to see his smile over many repetitious days. But then, he attended a small sentence which was included at the end of the voucher, it said “today only”. Once again, he felt upset because if he ate tacos, the reward would disappear. “I had been ready for this challenge every single day before I came here so that i can not give up so easily” he reminded himself then sadly waited till the last day.

Summary: Universities main goal is to teach us “How to make a living” through many different fields of study we choose. But actually, university can teach us “How to live”, it’s a place where we can find out “who we are”, “Where our society should be headed” and how to be delighted… The video also shows us an example that we can find the answers for our questions about “meanings, consolation, wisdom and sense of community” in the dialogues of Plato, the plays of Shakespeare, the novel of Jane Austin… rather than a church. But nowadays, it can not discover our questions like “How can I reconcile my demand for money with my requirement or meaning?” it still hasn't been confirmed well. As a result the subjects like History, literature, and philosophy can not handle real issues that can impact directly in our mindset. In the ideal universities, we might reflect the actual priorities of life.

- To make effective answers. I was trying to simplify the context of the questions in my head then connect it with discourse markers. It helped me calm down and there would be more ideas for me to express it fluently.

• Which areas did I find most challenging, and what can I do to improve my understanding of these topics in the future?

-One of the most challenging themes that I have considered is academic issues (luckily it didn’t appear in the test). I usually turn a blind eye to these regular problems so it’s hard to solve and think about the solution. To be honest, this topic is extremely related to our daily life so it’s very important to read the news, see the small stories to the big ones and spend enough time to improve my knowledge about it in the future.

• How well did I manage my time and stress during the test, and what adjustments could I make to enhance my performance next time?

-Well, in my opinion, mental health was the most important thing that I had prepared before I did the test, it helped me to balance the ideas that came up to my brain at that time . However, to make an effective performance, I’d rather stop translating the sentences that I would say in our native language than imagine it deliberately in English. There are some useful tips to think independently in English that I can collect on Youtube. I'll try my best to enhance my performance next time !
