In the article tourist Cesar Hernandez traveled with his wife to the skyline of Bagon, Burma. Burma is dotted with more than 2200 Buddhist temples. Monks saw a buddha tattoo on the man. This article showed me how serious they take their religion. The article says that Cesar did not have the tattoo for lack of respect. At first when I read the article I was pretty surprised and thought it was a little dramatic but as I kept reading my opinion changed. If you are going to someones place of worship you should be very respectful. Cesar was not and when I read the article Cesar was not even trying to cover the tattoo. He got this tattoo for the wrong reason. He got it as something he thought was "cool" but he didn't realize how important Buddha is for lots of people. Even though I was very surprised with what they did to Cesar, I agree and support their decision.

An officer told the AFP that the country planned to deport the Spaniard to Bangkok. "We will send him back because he violated the rules as a tourist here," he said."

"The practice derives from a belief that newborns are still close to the sacred realm from which they came and therefore deserve to be treated with veneration. Belief in reincarnation is widespread in Bali, where most people practice a local form of Hinduism. A child's birth is seen as the rebirth of a deceased relative, with ancestors returning as their own descendants."

''Before three months, babies are considered holy,'' said Robert Lemelson, an anthropologist who teaches at the University of California, Los Angeles. ''Their spirits still belong to the divine and are taken care of by their nyama bajang, or 108 spirits. That's why people in Bali always try to treat babies like gods.''

The two quotes that I mentioned above really had me intrigued. I have never heard of this concept before and I had lots of thoughts. I thought this was really interesting because apart of the reason babies were treated like Gods was because of their belief in Reincarnation. This helped me understand that they have a lot of respect for their ancestors because if they didn't they wouldn't treat the babies like gods.

"Sitting separately from the men in synagogue, preparing the food for the congregation with a female group and only ever observing blokes leading prayer services, just seems customary in my Jewish world. It is all I have even known. These practices feel sisterly, homely and most of all, normal - how things have always been. And for a religion based heavily on the power of tradition, altering the rules of the club has never even occurred to me."

The article was about this women trying to be faithful with her religion but also supporting what she believes in. This is very tough for her and other jewish women to deal with because like she said from the quote above, growing up in that type of setting just feels normal so making a change is very hard to adjust to. Personally I think she can still be very faithful even though she wants a change and wants there to be women rabbis and bishops. Times are changing things are not the same as they were when these rules were being made. The article explains how it is okay to have your religious beliefs and you personal beliefs to differ.
