However, PWDs from both regions manage their own business such as a sari-sari store, e-load business, and more. Second, more PWD workers are found in Metro Manila than in Batangas. Third, in terms of employment stability, more PWDs are informally employed which means that most of them are seasonal workers or rely on daily wages. Mina (2013) also found out that being a member of Disabled People's Organization and being at least a high school graduate attributes to becoming employed.

      • TESDA, in collaboration with the National Council on Disability Affairs, offers free skill training with PWDs. The skills include technical vocation training so that PWDs can receive a national certificate to be eligible to work in the Philippines and in abroad.

Although there are program implemented by the government that are greatly beneficial, they are only able to provide for a small number of PWDs and require certain conditions to be met. One example is the KaGabay program of the Department of Labor and Employment which provided livelihood and financial aid during the pandemic to 49 beneficiaries. This program only included persons with work related disabilities who have lost employment due to work related sickness or injury. Several government programs also require PWDs to register and require proof of disability to be considered a beneficiary. However, these mechanisms  pose several challenges, causing several
