This genre can give us insight to thigs that could possibly happen in the future if we don't make changes now to stop them from happening now. The two books we read are indeed things that could possibly happen, so being aware of thses issues, we can try to make sure they don't actually happen. They give us all something to think about, but also scares us, which could help us to be even more determined to prevent these issues.

I think one of the specific elements is things that we have right now being used in a bad way in the future. For instance, social media, we tend to think it is all good and fun to be active and posting our thoughts and ideas but, in the future it could bite us all in the butt if say communists rule in the next few years were to go look at all of our posts. They could say one of us is racist, or basically anything they have a problem with that we posted could result in something horrible happening to us. Am I making sense? Like if I was to post something saying I love Trump and hate Biden, then in the future some powerful Democrat could find that and possibly come for me and do harm. So dystopia shows us that things we have today and think are all good, can become bad in the future.

The issue that seems most similar would be the technology we have today. It would indeed be possible to have hounds do police work and hunt down criminals and even kill. Our technology is so advanced and it is only going to get worse. For instance, anyone could google how to make bombs, I've seen it in movies and read about it in newspapers, and even on the news. The internet is so dangerous in many ways.

Why or why not?

What do you think could happen in the future as far as a dystopian idea involving the environment? Have you watched The Rain on Netflix? I believe it is of the dystopian genre. It is very scary to think this could happen.

Some of the devices which could be used to call our culture lazy are very similar to the devices depicted in this novel.

While in some ways thats good, in the ways of technology, if the wrong person gets an idea and goes through with a disastrous idea, we are still going to see it as new and amazing. Taking it to far and evolving it, we could get as bad as the novel in no time and it can be seen happening in some instances if you look close enough.
