There are many reason as to why someone might want to immigrate :
  1. Family or a loved one
  2. To escape a war 
  3. To try and move away because a threat towards them
  4. On the run criminals. 
  5. Lack of education 
  6. Lack of safety 
  7. Lack of public health safety 
  8. Some might be kidnapped and taken to a different country.
  9. More work opportunities. 
  10.  Severe illness.

These are just some of the main reasons someone might immigrate, but others are "forced" to come to America like the war in Syria refugees. Thats been happening for the past couple of years. Millions of people from Syria fled their country because of the war and bombing happening. Thousands of refugees fled to America, to stay safe until the situation got better or resolved.

That, to me, is a lot and something that should be changed sooner rather than later. Illegal immigration is something that should be taken care of in a more polite fashion, rather than building a wall like President Trump said he would. Illegal immigration is a huge issue in America. The people who go though the actual process of becoming an American citizen should be able to live here. Many criminals or illegal immigrants from Mexico or other countries, come to America because it's safer for them. More than 11 million illegal immigrants are working and have families in the US. A good portion of those families have been living here for 5 or more years.

For example, getting a visa is very complicated. There are several steps. In each of the steps there are specific details and certain ways of sending in and doing paper work. I think the process is confusing and should be changed. People who do come to America legally deserve to be here because they went though the process. ICE takes care of border control, or anything to do with our borders near Mexico and Canada. ICE removed 235,413 people In 2015. 75,829 of those immigrants were criminals caught at the border or in the US.

Step 1- Get an agent to help with all your documents. You also can be your own agent or ask a family member to help.

Step 2-  Pay all fees that are sent to you.

Step 3 & 4-  Submit your visa application form along with all other documents including your bills and taxes.

Step 5- Any document in a different language is to be changed to English.

Step 6-  If you are chosen and have given all needed documents, you are given an interview. The things you will need are all the documents that you have sent, along with an extra copy.  After the interview, you are either given a visa or are denied.


This is the less confusing version. I simplified the majority of the steps and combined some. The process of just trying to explain this is confusing. They should make it easier and the steps more short and explained rather than a 10 page long document so it’s easier to read if the immigrant is not very fluent in English.
