LEGO competes against other popular toy companies such as Mattel and Hasbro. Through the distribution process of the products between these companies, LEGO seems to come out ahead. LEGO has become more than their physical building bricks. LEGO sets alone brought in 27.4 billion dollars in the first six months of 2023. LEGO has expanded its brand into movies, apps, and theme parks. Another aspect LEGO has over its competitors is its theme park. LEGO is a specified type of product while its competitors have different lines of toys. For example, Mattel has Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Thomas the Train while LEGO has different categories for their LEGO sets, but the concept behind each set is the same.

LEGO is on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and even linked in.

On Instagram LEGO has 10.3 Million followers and 4,946 posts.

This particular post has 52.6k likes and 127 comments.

LEGO uses Instagram to promote their new building sets and collaborations. LEGO's target audience on Instagram is geared more toward young adults aged 18-35.

In the post above LEGO is showcasing one of their new building sets. This is LEGO's new "Kingfisher Bird" set. LEGO had high-quality professional photos taken in nature to show off this set. LEGO made this LEGO bird come to life. They photographed the Kingfisher bird as if it were a real and natural sighting in the wild. This was a creative way to clearly show the set in a way that was appealing to the eye and had more depth than a plain colored background. Photographing the set in its so-called natural habitat is a nice contrast to what you see when shopping on the website. On LEGO's website, all the sets are shot against a white background.

They have posted 36K videos.

In addition to LEGO's YouTube channel, they also have ads.

In 2019 Lego created a series of commercials like this one. LEGO simply showed a child's imagination. In a short 20 seconds, LEGO caught the attention of an audience of any age because a horse jumping on a trampoline is not natural. The answer for this unnatural event was simply shown by a child using her imagination to create her world while playing with LEGO.

I chose this commercial because it was simple and effective. I rate commercials based on whether I can understand the message and know the brand without having to listen to the audio. LEGO did this well. The few words that are spoken in this commercial is not even in English, yet I understood the message. Then the commercial ended with LEGO's slogan "Rebuild the World"

Suffolk Branding

Suffolk is a uniform company. They are uniform in their employee appearance, the scrim, and branding on job sites, the red white, and blue logo that is often seen along with the American flag.

Suffolk is now calling themselves "Americas Contractor"

Uniforms:

Suffolk field employees must wear khaki pants and a white-issued company shirt. In addition to this specific attire, Suffolk employees must have a clean look. The office employees are seen with clean haircuts and appropriate business attire and or Suffolk apparel.

Suffolk Jobs:

There is no confusion if Suffolk is building a Job. When passing a site the fence is covered with the logo. Suffolk will often issue a T-shirt that is specific to the job being built to the subcontractors and laborers. This helps work morale and pride, but it also becomes a walking billboard.

Once a project is complete the building is a standing showcase of Suffolk's work. These buildings are large-scale and seen every day. This is a constant reminder of what Suffolk is capable of.

On SUFFOLK's website, the employee list is easily accessible. All the employee headshots and information are professionally done uniformly. This helps give the visual approval that the company is well-managed, professional, and ready to build your project. SUFFOLK also runs its projects with the same software, communication expectations, and tidiness.
