My reactions to the idea that people see things differently based on their perspective are not that surprising, but very interesting. For instance, the video brought out that based on people's perspectives, our idea varies on what emotion the man is displaying in the picture. Some may say nervousness, discomfort, anxiety, while others mention of hopefulness. This idea is based on the person's own perspective of the situation. Also, with the Barack Obama experiment, based on their perspective of Obama being lighter or darker, they either voted for him or for the other party. Therefore, I really do not find it surprising that people see things differently based on their own perspective.

I agree with the speaker's suggestion that motivation can help even unfit people feel that exercise is manageable. This is because as shown in the experiment, when people had strong motivation, no matter how fit or unfit they were, they saw the finish line as closer than those with a lack of motivation. Therefore, it is not a matter of how fit or unfit someone is, rather, it is how much motivation they have to exercise. I can relate personally since I view myself as unfit. However, when I had strong motivation, I did my exercise and even did better than those with a lack of motivation and yet fit. Therefore, I completely agree with the speaker.

As stated in the talk, to "keep your eyes on the prize," it means to stay focused on the goal you have set. As brought out in the social experiment, people who kept their eyes on the prize by focusing on the finish line did not have to exert themselves more than they needed to. On the other hand, people who looked around at the surroundings instead exerted more energy, thinking the finish line was farther away. Based on this data, I think this strategy works for me. This is because I have done this before where I focused my mind on one thing and I got it accomplished. Overall, this strategy is very effective when it comes to weight loss and management.

My overall reactions to the talk are not at all surprising to me. How we see things are based on our own perspectives, as long as there is motivation and a good attitude the job will get done, and if we keep our eyes on the prize, we will get there. I believe all of these things. An effective prize to motivate me to exercise is a long, happy, and healthy lifestyle. Knowing that if I exercise regularly I increase my lifespan, that is my motivation to keep exercising. My perspective has changed after listening to this talk by showing me that I don't need a label on me saying fit or unfit. It is not how others view me but how I view myself. Therefore, I am able to have the motivation to exercise more regularly if I just keep my eyes on the prize.

I wasn't surprised to the idea that people see things differently based on their perspective. I always witness difference in views, solely based on perspective, everyday. One example shown in the video explains how, less fit people see a finish line to be farther than people in better shape, to the same finish line. Perspective shifted views on the distance of the finish line. I wasn't very surprised by this finding since, I feel, it is a common occurrence.

I agree with the speakers suggestion that motivation can help unfit people feel that exercise is manageable. Motivation in general, can be used to make anyone do anything. The idea supports this idea by showing, that people with motivation and a clear goal saw the exercise than the people who didn't. Understanding ones limits and making a clear goal created motivation that ultimately made exercise, in the videos case, seem manageable.

According to the talk "keep your eyes on the prize" means to have a clear goal, complete focus and no attention to distractions. In the video, people with a clear focus on the finish line reached the finish line faster than those with out clear focus, even when carrying additional weight. This conveys that "keep your eyes on the prize" is keeping optimal focus or attention to a goal. I think this strategy works for me. I feel if lose all distractions and give my full attention to achieving something, I will get it.

An effective "prize" to motivate me to exercise would be to become fit and healthy. While I do have a simple "prize" I feel that just imagining myself in tip top shape is good motivation for m to exercise. My perspective has become more open I feel, after listening to the talk. The video showed me how other people look at the same thing differently, and has made me understand to keep and open mind so that I too can relate to different views.

Then when they said many people voted for obama when he looked lighter and wouldn't when he looked darker. So far it is helping me workout more often. My perspective changed after listening to this talk because it showed me that people see the same things differently due to their own perspective and opinions.

I agree with the speaker's suggestion that motivation can help even unfit people feel that exercise is manageable because motivation can make someone want to reach their goal. Personally, if I am motivated to do something and I want to pursue it, this makes it easier to complete the goal. Therefore, I feel that others may feel the same way. Motivation definitely helps me reach my goals, and I believe it can help others as well. (Specifically, motivation can help unfit people feel that exercise is manageable.)

According to the talk, to "keep your eyes on the prize" means to stay focused on the goal you are trying to reach. It also means not to get distracted on the way. "Keeping your eyes on the prize", in the talk, also shows that you can reach your goals faster if you stay focused. I do think this strategy works for me because when I stay focused, I get things done faster, than when I am distracted.
