I personally define success as learning something new everyday, and achieving short term goals everyday or weeks to therefore build up achievment for the longer term goals. Regarding my strengths, I believe I am good at listening and critical thinking. I am also pretty creative and a good musician. In terms of weaknesses, I sometimes procrastinate, although thankfully I almost always complete my work by the date it is due. I am proud about continuing playing guitar and not quitting, like many other people I have known who went to guitar practice with me. I am also proud of having subscribed myself to the New York Times and reading cool articles everyday. If I were to mention something unique about myself, I would say that I am good at making people around me feel comfortable and I am good at convicing people. 

Another thing that has caught my attention is when they say that communities are passing away due to destroying certain establishments in certain neighborhoods which give life and prosperity to communities. Climate gentrification has been the cause, as well as companies always wanting to profit from this and make money. 

It is becoming more and more critical the scarce water situation, negatively affecting people and wild life. We need to inspire the population to take care of out water and not waste it, as well as people should get into organizations of forest keeping. Water will some day be a currency around the world, and it will sooner be one, especially in dry areas like southern Cali. It is critical that we start giving a darn about what it going on with our water, and do our best to eliminate these for-profit companies like Nestle from stealing water that belongs to humans and animals of the area. 

My humble opinion on this is that Nestle should get their tubes the heck out of these areas, especially it being a foreign comapany and all. This truly disgusts me on how greedy these companies are, and their lack of care for other people. 

Essentially, this refers to the responsible use and management of the world's oceans and their resources to maintain their ecological health and productivity for future generations. Preserving the well-being and diversity of the marine ecosystem, while balancing economic development social well-being is our main priority. 

I belive that this is very important for the preservation of life, as well as sustaining the economic survival of people.

Furthermore, the fact that recycling is not profitable has also caught my attention. I honestly hope that recycling can become profitable in the near future, so that we better our ways to take care of the planet.

Firstly; we must more efficiently conserve water. Taking shorter showers, and advancing technology to create more efficient manufacture processes that waste less water. The less water thrown away, the less waste water will be poured into the ocean. 

Secondly; we should reduce pollution in our atmosphere and oceans. When I say this, a few examples to back me up are sharing a single car with multiple people to move around ( although controversial sometimes) , creating more efficient and affordable ways to create renewable energy; like solar panels, hidro-power, and wind energy. 

Moreover; cutting down our waste. The less garbage we throw out, the cleaner our enviroment will be, indirectly and directly affecting the health of our salty water. 

In addition, we must respect our habitat, fish responsibly, and practice safe boating. Safe boating means to anchor boats in sandy areas and not around coral reefs, thus doing otherwise would kill coral, causing a chain affect that will eventually exacerbate the health and livelihood of ocean life. 

Lastly, because this is getting too long; we should volunteer in activities that help protect the oceans and seas, such as beach cleanups and protecting watershed. 

In conclusion, we need to protect our oceans and seas by conserving water, reducing pollution, wasting less, taking care of our habitat, and offering our volunteering help to protect oceans and seas.

This video certainly prompted me to reflect. The reason why this is, is the fact that a nuclear war will lead to a sever nuclear winter, among other bad things. What is powerful and attention-keeping is that we are currently getting closer to a possible nuclear world-war. Furthermore, climate change is also something to reflect on, because we need to maintain certain temps when it comes to our atmosphere, so that the world and living beings don't die.

Each type of electromagnetic wave has unique properties and applications. Radio waves are used for communication, such as in television and radio broadcasting, while microwaves are used for cooking and in telecommunications. Infrared radiation is used in heating and sensing applications, while visible light is what we see with our eyes. Ultraviolet radiation and X-rays are used in medical imaging and sterilization, and gamma rays are used in cancer treatment.

The study of the electromagnetic spectrum is important in many scientific fields, including physics, astronomy, and chemistry. Understanding the behavior of electromagnetic waves and their interactions with matter has led to many technological advances and innovations. The development of technologies like X-ray machines, microwave ovens, and fiber optics are all possible thanks to the understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The Doppler effect is commonly observed in sound waves, where it causes a change in pitch as a sound source moves towards or away from an observer. When a sound source is moving towards an observer, the frequency of the sound waves is compressed, resulting in a higher pitch. Conversely, when a sound source is moving away from an observer, the frequency of the sound waves is stretched, resulting in a lower pitch.

The Doppler effect is also observed in other types of waves, such as electromagnetic waves (light), and is used in various fields of science and technology, such as astronomy, radar, and medical imaging.

Although many people may believe that this process is the answer, there are some concerns regarding the long-term effects that the process of sea-water desallination may have on the enviroment. The executives in this video have mentioned that it may take 25 times more energy than other fresh water production processes. The fact that reverse osmosis requires very high and intense levels of pressure on the water, leads to a high usage of energy that can cause the world to run out of it faster. Another concern they have mentioned is that for every 2 gallons of salt water processed, we get 1 gallon of drinkable water and the other gallon turns out as a very highly concentrated salt-water. This concentrated salty water is poured back into the sea essentially, cuasing the huge amounts of salt to sink down into the bottom of the ocean. Thus may lead to jeopardizing effects on sea life such as coral-reefs and many species of fish. 

As tenchnology continues to improve, there may be a more affordable way to desalinate sea-water, as well as affordable in the potential of the least adverse-effects it may have on the oceans themselves. 

My initial reaction after hearing that I had to complete this course, was excitement to the fact I would be learning interesting things about the enviroment we live in. I believed it was important and still do, that our ecosystem and everything that entails it is very important to be aware of, as well as the protection of thus. It is very clear that we must take care of the world and not hurt it, in order to potentially lead to a better life for future generations. Before I started this class, I associated the name of the course with Biology and ecology. I new it was going to be regarding nature and fauna on our planet. 

Regarding my experience in this class, I have had a good and new-fangled experience. When I say good, I specifically mean that our Professor was welcoming, easy to understand and seems passionate about the stuff we have covered. I now have learned many things from this class, thus importantly critical to be aware of; like climate-changed, alternative energy sources and renewable ones, how climate change will have negative effects on sea and land-life, which will ultimately affect humans in bad ways. When I say affect us in bad ways, I mean that we may eventually have wars over potable water, experience more wild fires, breathe dirtier and more toxic air,etc. My experience on this course was different than I expected in terms of the material covered. I thought initially that the class would be essentially regarding wild -life and plants and photosynthetic organisms, so I can say that this class was different than what I ad expected, but it is ok. 

The activities I have done during this class have made me improve and gain more knowledge as a person. I feel richer inside because I am now more aware of the problems our earth is facing due to humanity's un-doing; like polluting the air, soil and oceans to satisfy our needs.
