Special needs students and English Learners have the option to write a short summary either from the article or the link. All students can refer to the Padlet/Link if they would like to continue on their own.

Unit Exam Review on Jeopardy!

Prior to the Exams, the class will participate in an activity where they will review content and key terms to determine areas they need to improve.

To determine what students will be graded on, they may refer to the rubric to aid them when doing their assignments so they have an idea on how they can demonstrate good work and exceed expectations.

Sequence Chain Assignment Visual Sample

While on the unit, students will take the time to determine topics essential toward learning and will make a sequence chain involving historical context. That involves highlighting vocabulary words and doing research to understand the information.

Sample is historical context regarding gerrymandering. Albeit being more of an English assignment, it can also be used for history classes.

Being a reading strategy that involves identifying main ideas and key terms, they will write a vocabulary word that stands out doing four things.

Define the word.
Visual Examples.
Terms affiliated with the definition.
Context Clues.

Vocabulary Sheet

Students will use another graphic organizer to not identify the vocabulary words aligned with the lesson, but also the meaning and a visual sample. Another graphic organizer students may use if the four square vocabulary graphic is not helpful to meeting their needs when building knowledge.

Quizlet Flashcards

Recognizing how there are special needs students and English Learners, but even those with dyslexia, Quizlet is another source I will incorporate to accommodate needs. Not only do they include texts, but also has audio to read along.
