This year of AP Language feels like a roller coaster, with its highs and lows. How did your year in AP Language go? As we are both still juniors, I hope we are both trying our best and pushing our limits during the summer and next senior year. Speaking of AP Language, I truly appreciate the rhetorical activities that help us understand rhetorical choices and critical thinking, allowing us to think more critically. With my understanding of the word "exchange," I think our exchange is not only established through our ideas and minds but, most importantly, through a change of lifestyle and culture. I was surprised to hear that you guys go to school on Sunday. Personally, I could never do that. I truly find the class guided me to become a more disciplined person. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience we've had together this year through our virtual exchange. Your thoughtfulness, empathy, and sense of humor have made our discussions truly special. I'm so grateful that we were able to establish a connection and learn from each other. My perspective has been broadened and challenged as I reflect on our conversations. I've gained a deeper understanding of the diversity of cultures and experiences, and I've been inspired by your unique perspectives and insights. Our talks have also taught me the importance of kindness, active listening, and an open mind in building meaningful connections with others, regardless of distance or background. As we come to the end of the year, I'm reminded of the many AP Language topics we've explored together. Our discussions have reinforced the significance of language in shaping our identities, from analyzing rhetorical strategies in texts to debating how language influences our understanding of the world. I now see AP Language concepts everywhere: in how politicians use language to shape public opinion, how social media platforms change our understanding of the world, and how stories bring people together.
