I chose this picture because I feel it describes our environment and the never ending interaction between plants and other living organisms in each ecosystem. Nothing in this picture would be able to survive without one another. For example, the fish thrive off of the plants released O2 and in return the fish release CO2 that is curtal for plants to stay alive. Looking at the big picture here, each organism and plant in our environment needs the other to survive. Such as the water, it contains nutrients, balancing O2 levels, different temperatures, and sunlight; creating a healthy pond ecology.

I chose this video because Crash Course does a great job of making difficult things seem less difficult to comprehend, especially something like photosynthesis. The Chloroplast is only found in a plant cell is the only organelle that can absorb water, sunlight, and CO2 and create energy. Through photosynthesis and the calvin cycle, other wise known as light-dependent and light-independent reactions. This video shows each step in motion where electrons go, how the hydrogens are used, and the products of each processes.

For an example of an angiosperm I chose the Magnolia Macrophylla other wise known as the Big-leaf Magnolia. I chose this flowering plant because my grandmother has them in her yard and I have always thought they were beautiful. The natural habitat is a rich wooded area with plenty of space to grow due to how much space the tree takes place. The tree can grow up to 30-60 feet tall and 20-30 feet wide, producing white blooms up to 14 inches wide.

I gathered my information from, https://gnps.org/plants/bigleaf-magnolia-magnolia-macrophylla/

I chose the Tropical Rainforest as one of the most endangered biomes in the world. One of the major reasons it is so at risk is because of deforestation. According to National Geographic, "Rain forest that once grew over 14 percent of the land on Earth now cover only about 6 percent." these numbers will continue to decrease through the years. Thus having a result on greenhouse gases. According to our notes on D2L, "[Tropical rainforests] cover roughly 6% of the planet, it accounts for nearly half the oxygen produced on Earth." The annual effects of deforestation lead to soil erosion/ water pollution, loss of habitat, loss of food for animals, increase CO2, decrease O2, and also affects medicine. A long term solution would be proper forest management and select cutting.

I chose a picture provided by google because it has the advantages and disadvantages listed in a comparable chart. The neolithic revolution had a dramatic impact on civilization, one advantage mentioned below is the steady food supplies. Food is such a necessity that it can dictate the choices people make. For example, the nomadic communities would move around to different locations until they would run out of food but with the revolution they started to grow their own crops giving them a sense of security and a chance to settle down. On the contrary this would also be a problem because one of the negatives is that a crop could not grow as expected or could not receive as much rain. This left communities going back and forth until they found what crops flourish in their environment.

I chose this picture from google because it is one of the progressions that came from the 3rd agricultural revolution. The leaps this made cut time in half, cut labor down, and made farming more efficient. However, acquiring tools like the ones pictured were costly, making it hard for poor farmers to stand a chance against the wealthy. Two techniques were practiced, fallow land and crop rotation. according to our D2L notes, "technology and productivity led to an increase in urbanization and more complex social stratification." This is just one example (pictured below) of how industrialization impacted society. Eventually leading to the Green Revolution, which the goal was to increase the economy and decrease hunger. Some of which was sucessful.

I chose this chemical because it has had an affect on humans for centuries, myself included. Caffeine is produced from the chemical Xanthine. Xanthine is found in the bark of coffee and often found in citrus trees. It is a highly addictive drug that people overlook, it has an affect on your body, your heart more specially and mixed with sugar can become dangerous to your health. When I say dangerous I'm referring to living a healthy lifestyle. Found in soft drinks, coffee, and some foods.
According to Thought Co., "When purified, caffeine is an intensely bitter white crystalline powder. It is added to colas and other soft drinks to impart a pleasing bitter note... Caffeine is also an addictive stimulant. In humans, it stimulates the central nervous system, heart rate, and respiration, has psychotropic (mood altering) properties, and acts as a mild diuretic."

https://www.thoughtco.com/chemistry-of-caffeine-608500
picture from link above.

If our world goes without planned precautions for our future, our oceans will look like the picture below. Which is one of the small problems our planet is currently facing because a lot of environmental concerns are not quick fixes. According to Conserve Energy Future, "The environment problems like global warming, acid rain, air pollution, urban sprawl, waste disposal, ozone layer depletion, water pollution, climate change and many more affect every human, animal and nation on this planet." I will focus primarily on our water systems, as they take up 71% of the earths surface. According to Plastic Oceans, they predict that there will be more plastic than actual fish, not trash not waste, just plastic in the ocean. That is crazy, the ocean absorbs more than a 3rd of our CO2 pollution. Its mandatory that we make preserving, conserving, and improving a op priority, if not our earth will not be so fruitful in the future.

Info-https://www.futureagenda.org/insight/plastic-oceans

https://www.conserve-energy-future.com/top-25-environmental-concerns.php

- Picture https://www.cagle.com/gatis-sluka/2017/09/ocean-pollution#.W1usFthKh0I
