• How can we do outreach in Kittitas? 

WithinReach is honored to partner with Safeway/Albertsons Nourishing Neighbors to distribute gift cards for families. Cards can be used at Albertsons-affiliated stores (e.g. Safeway, Albertsons, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Pavilions, Vons, Carrs, ACME Market) to purchase groceries, prepared foods, hygiene items, baby supplies, diapers, and gas. This activity centers dignity and choice by equipping food-insecure families with financial resources to shop for what best meets their needs.

This spring we would like to pilot a collaborative approach across the HMG WA Network, beginning with rural local HMG systems in Island County, Grays Harbor County, Skagit County, Whatcom County, and Central WA.  These funds are available through the end of May 2026

This spring, we would like to pilot a perinatal HMG WA outreach and engagement campaign. As part of this effort—and given that navigation support is currently provided through the HMG WA Hotline—we’re hoping to partner with these three regions (Island Co, Grays Harbor Co, Central WA) to help spread the word that HMG WA Pregnancy Packs are available to eligible callers.

HMG WA Pregnancy Packs are issued to individuals who are pregnant at the time they contact us and complete a full intake screening with a Resource Navigator. Families must confirm that someone in the household is pregnant, and we collect their due date to ensure they are within two months of welcoming a newborn. If eligible, the Resource Navigator offers the Pregnancy Pack, which should arrive by the end of June.

The packs include the following items:

• HMG WA embroidered baby hooded towel

• Baby hygiene/grooming kit

• Diapers

• Diaper paste

• Wipes

• Diaper caddy

• HMG WA onesie

• Pacifiers

• Silicone bib

• $200 Amazon gift card

Ways to Participate

Providers can choose from several engagement levels based on their interest and availability:

• Public Awareness & Advocacy: Co-present with HMG staff to inform partners and caregivers about the benefits of the HMG system.

• Storytelling & Content: Participate in interviews or blogs to share firsthand experiences in addressing the needs of children and families.

• Strategic Consultation: Act as a healthcare representative to advise on implementation, community resource mapping, and outreach design.

• Professional Development: Represent HMG in specialized training opportunities.

  
  

Support & Compensation

To respect the time and expertise of our partners, this project provides:

• Financial compensation for participation.

• Dedicated staffing support to minimize the administrative burden on the provider.

  
  

Timeline & Next Steps

• Deadline: Funding for this phase ends July 31, 2026. We are looking to recruit and begin activities as soon as possible (starting in April).
