Energy Resource (Peyton)

To create energy to survive we will first have to collect enough resources. By using the saw, we will cut wood from dead trees, also collect dry leaves/grass to start the fire as well as rocks to contain the fire. We will then use the wheel burrow to cart the resources to the ‘camp’. Before starting the fire we would use the shovel to construct a small pit to contain the fire, then we would place the rocks around the pit so the fire doesn’t spread. Then, with the grass and the leaves, we would create a small mound to light using the matches. After that, we would place the dry/dead wood over it to keep the flame going. If we run out of matches we can use a friction based way to light the fire with a stick (or flint, if we can get it) on a chunk of wood with dry leaves and grass over it to make the flame, then use the same process as before to maintain the fire.

The surrounding rocks around the fire have two purposes. Firstly it is used to contain the source of heat, secondly it could be ‘cooked’ and used as a small source of warmth. The heated rocks could also be used to cook on.
How to Make Fire Without Matches or a Lighter (n.d.)

a way to get a healthy meal with some variety of flavour and colour, will be difficult but is possible. there is a variety of berries and fruits out in the bush that you can eat straight away or you can keep for cooking, growing lettuce is a good idea because it grows quite quickly and can grow all year round in Australian temperature. you cant just live of vegetables (unless you are vegetarian and have protein powder or similar), you need protein. protein is a vitamin that give you strength and boosts your health greatly, it only comes from meat so you wil lhave to do some hunting. if you have a ranged weapon it will be great to use because most animals will run away, don't attack big predetors because its likely they will kill you easily. possoms, rabits and birds should be your first target. they are easy to kill and are very common. killing animals isn't nice so you must respect the animals, only kill how much you will eat that day, its nearly impossible to preserve meat without refrigerating it. make sure you always cook your food because food poisoning is not hard to find when you eat raw meat. cook your food because you will have a better meal and you wont feel sick

Definition: fiber resources: blankets that are made from things like cotton, wool, small twigs.
We can use this fiber to make some extra clothing if needed, we can make them out of wool that we can gather from sheep. wool is good because you can get a good amount of it and it comes back over time. we could also make fiber out of things like cotton, which is also good because it grows well in Australia and the CSHS farm has a good place to grow it. Fiber will be a very useful tool for our group to use to make our chance of survival higher.

Chance of Survival Q5

We believe our chance of survival is 4 out of 5. As we have some items that will help with hygienic and bio security. We have plenty of crops and food trees planted so we will always have food.we also have multiple methods of getting clean drinking water. But we could certainly have more items to help us. We have very good tools though so we would have good amounts of shelter and protection. Also the weapons that we have will help us survive from attackers/animals and keep us safe. We also believe that our way of getting energy is very easy, conservative and beneficial. But we may have trouble working as a team. this is because everyone will have different perspectives on things this may cause fights and arguments. However we will eventually find a way to work well together. So overall we believe that we have a high chance of survival, however not working together could be a major letdown.
