Our first project was in support of Mental Health Awareness week and we relaunched our Worry Boxes. We design posters and shared them with each class across the school. We will be revisiting them after half term and support where needed.

Healthy Lunches

Well done to our wonderful Prefects for leading our first project of the year! Not only did they carry out surveys and research the topic, but they also organised a fantastic assembly for every grade in the school. During the assembly, they shared the results of the survey, explained the importance of a balanced diet, and discussed what our lunches should look like to help us reach our full potential.

We are now planning to organise a workshop for all parents. If any of you have healthy recipes that children would enjoy and would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

What an amazing Winter Wonderland we had today! ❄️✨

A huge thank you to all our wonderful parents for joining us and making this day so special. Your support, enthusiasm and smiles truly brought the festive spirit to life.

I am incredibly proud of all the children for their hard work and teamwork — from setting up their enterprise stalls, running the drinks stand, creating all the fantastic posters, to helping me set up and resource the games. Their dedication and creativity shone through every part of the event.

Student Leadership Meeting Summary

Today, our Head Boy, Head Girl, and Student House Coordinator met to discuss the school’s six key priorities in preparation for this week’s assemblies and Thursday’s joint meeting with student leaders from the other RAK Academy schools.

During the meeting, they reviewed each priority carefully, shared ideas on how to promote them across the school community, and planned how to present their insights confidently during the upcoming discussions. The team showed excellent collaboration and enthusiasm as they worked together to represent our school and contribute meaningfully to the wider RAK Academy network.

Today the Head Boy, Head Girl and Student House Coordinator were invited to our first RAK Academy meeting at Movenpick Hotel where we discussed our school's USPs, worked on our calendar of events and took part in two workshops: Time Management and Being a Great Leader. All in all, a wonderful morning!

Emirati Ambassador Selection

Yesterday the Student Leadership Team listened to all 8 Emirati Ambassador applications without knowing the names of the applicants. The children then took part in a blind vote and selected one boy and one girl to represent our school.

Blue Ribbon Week Assembly Summary:

This week’s assembly celebrated Blue Ribbon Week, a special time dedicated to kindness, respect, and appreciation. Our Head Boy, Head Girl, and Wellbeing Prefects planned and executed a wonderful week filled with engaging activities, thoughtful reflections, and opportunities for students to show gratitude and care for one another.

Throughout the week, students took part in discussions, games, and creative tasks that promoted positive relationships and highlighted the importance of being kind both in school and beyond. The assembly was a perfect conclusion — a moment to reflect on what we learned, celebrate our shared values, and thank the leadership team for their hard work and enthusiasm in making Blue Ribbon Week such a success.

Emirati Ambassadors

This week, our Student Leadership Team gathered to vote for this year’s Emirati Ambassadors. We would like to thank all the children who took the time to write and submit their wonderful applications — each one was absolutely fantastic and reflected a deep sense of pride, creativity, and enthusiasm.

A big congratulations to Hamdan and Mouza in Grade 5, and Fatema and Khalifa in Grade 4, who have been selected as this year’s Emirati Ambassadors.

We are also delighted to share that the remaining applicants will form our Emirati Working Party, where they will continue to contribute their brilliant ideas and support the ambassadors in upcoming projects and celebrations throughout the year.

Enterprise Prefects

Tomorrow, during our National Day celebration, we will be hosting an exciting Enterprise Stall. Our Enterprise Prefects, Emirati Ambassadors and the Enterprise Working Party have been working incredibly hard to prepare a fantastic range of goods and activities for the children to enjoy.

We’d love for you to pop by and visit the stall to support the children’s fantastic efforts, and please ensure your child brings a little money if they would like to take part.

The aim of this initiative is to raise money that will be reinvested into future enterprise projects throughout the year, with the final goal of generating funds for a chosen charity.

📢 TEDx Assembly & Competition

Today, the children took part in an inspiring TEDx-style assembly, where they learned about sharing ideas, using their voice, and presenting with confidence. They were truly motivated by the experience!

If your child would like to participate in the upcoming TEDx competition, they can begin working on their script and PowerPoint presentation at home. These can be shared with their teacher after the winter break.

We are very excited to see the creative and thoughtful ideas our young speakers will bring to the stage! 🌟

National Day Events

What a fabulous National Day celebration we had today!

The children were absolutely amazing — they shone in their assembly and enjoyed every moment of our outdoor band performance, the exciting canine show, the delicious Emirati food, the animals, and all the wonderful activities prepared for them.

A huge well done to our incredible Student Leadership Team for stepping up and doing such a fantastic job throughout the day and all the fabulous parents who are always in the background supporting and encouraging them. ❤️

Today we had a wonderful celebration filled with pride and unity as we honoured the values of the UAE. Our Head Boy, Head Girl, Grade 5 Reps, Emirati Ambassadors and the Emirati Working Party led an inspiring assembly that set the tone for the day. The event began with the traditional Nadbah chanters proudly welcoming our special visitors, creating a truly memorable atmosphere. We were honoured to have members of the police force join us to raise the UAE flag, a powerful moment that reminded everyone of the nation’s strength and spirit. Throughout the day, children took part in activities that helped them learn more about the values, traditions, and rich heritage of the UAE, making it a day filled with pride, learning, and celebration.

Key Priorities Assembly

Blue Ribbon - Appreciation Snack

The children had a wonderful time celebrating Blue Ribbon Appreciation Day! They really enjoyed their snacks and took part in a fun activity where they wrote three facts about themselves that make them unique and drew a picture of themselves.

We then picked one card at random, and everyone had to guess who it was — the children absolutely loved this game and had so much fun learning more about one another!

Being Unique Day

As part of Blue Ribbon Week, today’s activity focused on the theme of being unique. Each child wrote something special about themselves on a card without including their name. The cards were then mixed up, and everyone had to guess who the unique person was based on what was written.

It was a wonderful way for children to celebrate their individuality and appreciate what makes each of their classmates special. 💙

Leading CCAs

We would like to share how incredibly proud we are of the children who have volunteered this term to be part of our Student Leadership Team and support the running of a CCA alongside a teacher.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the pupils, as they will be team teaching with the CCA leader, working collaboratively to plan, organise and deliver sessions. Throughout the term, they will be developing key leadership skills such as communication, responsibility, teamwork, initiative and confidence.

Volunteering for this role shows great commitment, maturity and enthusiasm, and the children should be very proud of themselves. We are delighted to see them stepping into leadership roles and supporting younger pupils in such a positive way.

Our Future School Meeting

Today in our G4/G5 Student Leadership meeting, pupils worked together to shape our school vision. 🌟

In groups, they explored key areas including healthy lifestyles, mental wellbeing, sustainability, technology, and UAE culture. Their ideas were incredibly creative—from vegetable growing and school farms, to designing our very own RAKA AI tool, a mindfulness room, and even an automatic buddy AI pairing system to support friendships and wellbeing.

We also had a special surprise visit from HH Shaikh Saud, who was incredibly impressed with the team. He was warm and welcoming, spoke to every child, greeted them one by one, and took a genuine interest in each of their ideas.

It was fantastic to see such thoughtful discussions, teamwork, and innovation—our students are truly shaping a future-ready school!

Back to School - April

Our wonderful leadership team gave our students a warm welcome yesterday, visiting each class to present them with their very own flag. A special thank you to our kind donor for generously providing the flags.

💞 The children also greeted everyone in the morning as they arrived, with colourful pompoms and lively music—just as they had planned during their meeting last week. It was fantastic to see them taking ownership, making decisions, and truly embracing their roles as student leaders, creating such a cheerful atmosphere.
