         <description><![CDATA[<div>On August 28 1963, Stood Martin Luther King Jr in front of more than 250.000 protest marchers. He gave one of the most famous speeches in the US history in Washington DC. They wanted equality for all Americans. <br><br>He said: "I have a dream..." His dream for the future was for all children, all Americans. The colour of a persons skin did not matter. Only a persons heart and mind were important.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>19Martin Luther was born on January 15 in 1929. Before King started in school, he played with a little white boy. But at the age of five, they had to go to different schools. Black children could´t go to schools for whites. King decided to hate white people, but it changed when he grew up.<br><br>African americans suffered terribly under the white men´s laws, in the first half of the 1900s. His dream was; for black people and white people to live together peacefully. He said "all men are equal". <br><br>Martin Luther King Jr. Was one of Americas greatest leaders. King wasn´t president, but his birthday is a national day in the US. King got famous around the world in the 1960´s. King was president for MIA, he could speak for the black people. <br><br>African Americans, and all Americans, have a better life today because of Martin Luther. But it costed, Martin Luther King was arrested several times. He paid also a lot of money for his followers bails. They got arrested for boycotting. <br><br>Martin Luther King was not afraid of dying, he said "if someone needs to die, i will die". Later Martin Luther was sent in prison. But JFK offered to help him, John F kennedy paid his bil on 2.000 dollars. King was very grateful to JFK.<br><br>Martin Luther King held his famous speech "I have a dream", in 1963. He won the nobel Peace Prize in 1964, at the age of 35. He was the youngest winner in history. He did not accept it for himself, he accepted it for all the peaceful protesters. <br><br>King died at the hospital on April 4, 1968 by a gunshot</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Martins ideas changed when he learned an important lesson from Ghandi. He told his people to love their enemies. Martin agreed with Ghandi. <br><br>King learned later a very important lesson - how to change an enemy into a friend. King was growing from an angry boy to a forgiving young man -  into a leader. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Ku Klux Klan where very agressive to blacks, in the end of 1956. They were shooting at buses, burning crosses. In 1957 bombed they a church and a house.<br><br>The KKK got 15 minutes, from the police to attack the freedom riders. The KKK sent many black and white people to the hospital, later they attacked them again on the hospital. <br>After Kings speech "I have a drem", bombed the KKK a church in Birmingham. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Martin Luther wrote a "letter", on a newspaper in the Birmingham Jail. He wrote it 8 white preachers, he wrote:<br>Why do you hate the demonstrations, but you do not hate the reasons for them? For years the black man was heard the word "wait!" but it has nearly always meant "never". Americas black people have waited more than 340 years. White people kill black mothers and fathers. Policemen kill our black brothers and sisters. What will happen next? We never know. When you understand our problems, you will understand this. we find it difficult to wait. He sent the letter to churches, Robert Kennedy and to other politicians in Washington. </div>]]></description>

         <title>King is murdered</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>King got shot outside the Memphis hotel, he was taken to the hospital and died on April 1968. <br><br>Stokely Carmichael told blacks, "this is an act of war! get your gun". There were riots in 110 cities and 39 people were killed.The workers won their fight for higher pay, Kings work there was done.<br><br>The FBI arrested James Earl Ray on June 8. He was a criminal and hated blacks. He was sent to prison for 30 years.</div>]]></description>
