What do you believe is an appropriate age to begin social media use?

I think the appropriate age is around 8+, but it has to be monitored 100% of the time. Children are subjected to violence in just about any thing they see.

I don't think social media should be used until at least age 12.

I think that social media shouldn't be used unti they are 13.

Believe it or not, social media impacts are kids, and it shouldn't

be brought around them until this age.

As a mother, I will not allow my kids to have social media until at least 13.

I also believe in having all passwords so that I can be aware of what is going on in their lives. Use of social media can also depend on the maturity level of the child and may differ with each one. There is no right or wrong age. You just need to use your best judgment and be aware of what is going on, as well as teach proper use and etiquette.

I belive children should be at the youngest 10 years old

before they are able to social media. However, it should

only be used at that age if they are monitored to an extent

and for family and emergency calls.

I believe 13 is a good age. I do not think children are emotional and can make clear independent decisions before this age.

I think 12 is the earliest age and when it is being used at this age it requires a lot of parental supervision

I think the earliest a kid should have a phone is 12 or 13 years old as well. There's just no need hardly for an 8 year old to have a cellphone in my opinion

I honestly don't think that kids should have any type of social media or a cell phone until they are in high school. But realistically that probably is no going to happen because kids want what they can't have. I know I made social media accounts before my parents allowed me to but I was still considerably older than most other kids when I first got social media. I was in later junior high almost high school. I think that waiting so long was a positive and negative thing. On the positive side I was more active and connected to people than other kids, and negatively once I did get social media I was more addicted to it because I hadn't had it for so long.
