She might get away for a while.  But she also has a child.  And there is something similar to photographic memory but with hearing.  And some people can hear things in the womb.  The unborn child may play a huge factor in later years.

Right now though, it seems as if she might just be able to get away with it.  Though with everything she did, she might have messed up somewhere without meaning too.

The police aren't stupid. After the post-mortem examination, they found animal blood on Mr. Maloney's head - likely lamb blood. Suddenly, everything linked together. There seemed to be no broken windows, and the front door was locked.  How do we know that?  We see Mary unlock it as she comes in.  Meaning the person who killed Patrick either had to be someone who held a key to his house, or had another way of getting into the house.

The police might find this strange, as no visible force entry was shown.  Only a struggle in the study, beside the front door.  (Even if it was a backdoor it wouldn't matter)
