1ST PERSON
I chose Private Joseph Whitehouse because he is a young persistent man that feel will be a great man one day. His family moved to Kentucky and then he joined the corps the help the country. This soldier would be a good addition to the team because he is young adventurous and is a learner which could also be a man that could be a very inspiring person in the future.

2ND PERSON
My second choice is Private Alexander Hamilton Willard. I chose him because he is experienced and could also be a hero when he gets back home. The accusation of him sleeping a sentry duty which could lead in death would most likely be wiped away because of his sacrifice to this country. Willard will be a great father because of his unique characteristics.

PLANT
I chose the sweet grass. The sweet grass has small quantities in some fruits, including strawberries and cherries. This plant could be a major food source for the travelers so they wouldn’t starve.Sweet grass uses to be made into baskets and mats. The roots were used for a fragrance or perfume. It smells like just mown hay or vanilla. Sweet grass has been used in spiritual and religious ceremonies and as a personal perfume, and braided into necklaces and bracelets for wearing as amulets to ward off illness and injury. The amulets were just a hosk.

ANIMAL
I chose the Grizzly bear because this mammal is a very interesting. I can weight up to 300-800 lbs. Lewis and Clark encountered a grizzly bear. The bear was so tough that even several rifle shots wouldn't kill them. The grizzly bears were truly the kings of the western plains. The Grizzlies would eat fish out of a stream and claw them and just eat them right there.

The Mandans lived in earth lodges, they traded farm grown corn and wheat to trade with the travelers. They were located on the upper Missouri river. They feed and housed the Americans for about 2 days then they set off again until they found another tribe. Some Mandans wore coats and hats from Sea Captains. Some spoke a bit of English.
