In one of your first sections you could have a go at summarising the core values that drive health promotion. You can use text and bullet points, but probably not only bullet points. You should also use a reference. You do in-text APA-style references up here and add a box for all references, as they accumulate at the bottom. You can add photos to any post to add to the design.

You can also use articles to bring in illustration or additional lenses to your wiki. I will be posting interesting articles through out the course you may like to include, and you may also come across your own. Important is that when you include them you link them to the story you are telling, contextualise why you put them there.

These can be youtube links or maybe you are keen to film yourselves and add it! Again, it is important that you contextualise why this video is important or what point it makes in relation to your wiki.

Organising your Wiki

There are many different ways you could organise your wiki. You could do this by modules (though I recommend not calling areas module 1 but instead values and foundations of health promotion), though you may find it too restrictive and instead prefer to break it up by topics. I recommend you include a post up front (that you keep adding to as you go) that introduces what this padlet is about. It can be quite upfront and include being a learning journey and an introduction to health promotion, but it is useful to introduce what you have here.

You might like to include images to design your wiki. As you can see I have added some to previous posts. These can be pure decoration or have some meaning behind them. For instance in the first box the pathway indicates values, and how following a set of values can help you find the right way. Or for the previous box the picture of a journal indicates this post is about organising the content. These are obviously a little philosophical but it is fun to include some images that may reflect some of what you are talking about. Pictures can also elicit feelings and therefore help with communicating a message- don't you all feel like lying at this beach now? For free stock images you can use some links I add below.

As you can see once you accumulate boxes on your page it doesn't necessarily follow a clear pathway anymore (at least on this design it doesn't) so it is important that you make sure if a video, article or similar links to another box that you position it nearby. You could also decide to number your boxes. One thing to keep in mind though is that each box stands for itself, so if you for instance do one for each action area of the Ottawa Charter then you should say for each that it is an action area of the Ottawa Charter. That way anyone just reading that box can understand the individual contributions also.

Glossaries are useful to help you capture the core meaning behind common words we use in health promotion

One other tool is to write an annotation on a/some readings if you they are of particular value.

With all these suggestions don't forget this is your collaborative learning tool. You and your team decide how and what to capture what you are learning in this course. I am suggesting a range of ways you may like to do this, but overall you are free to come up with ideas as they suit you. The two key things are to reference when you make a point and to put on your critical thinking cap so that you can be critical in your learning journey rather than just summarising points.
