As seen in both the film, and the text/drama, The Frank family had believed that they lasted long enough to be rescued. As a result they began to be more and more careless, which Subsequently led to their exposure, capture, and death. It also made them ill prepared when going into concentration camps. As seen, all of the franks lived almost to the end of the war, dying just before being liberated. Had they expected capture a little more, versus being so confident it couldn't happen, they may have gone into camps a little more cautiously. What this means is that we need to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. (And don't get typhus, that would be bad. Also have food. During the Holocaust many people of different races were prosecuted due to who they were. Anne Frank was one of these people. She was hiding in Holland at the time she was captured. Before Anne Frank and her family had to go into hiding, Holland had tried to stay neutral in the war. This resulted in Holland having to surrender to the Germans. Several groups of people living in Holland were taken to concentration camps and murdered.
