Eddie tried to save the girl that almost got crushed by the roller coaster cart. He realized all of his surroundings, and he was taking everything in. He flung up to save the girl. Yet, when he landed on the ground, he felt the 2 little hands of the girl.

The same place that Eddie worked at, he was in heaven. He saw how clean and newly polished it was, different from what Eddie worked at. Eddie was so used to it being old and worn out. Yet, now he remember how it was like when he was a kid. He is reminded of his younger days at the Ruby Pier.

Eddie accidentally caused the blue man to die when he was younger. The blue man was driving and Eddie was playing in the street. Even though Eddie did not know the blue man, he caused him to die. Is confused on how even though they didn't know each other, how the blue man died. Even though Eddie said they were practically strangers, Eddie effected his life gravely.

Even though Eddie did not directly try to hurt the blue man, he did. Eddie didn't even know who the blue man was. Yet, Eddie accidentally killed him. Eddie does not know the blue man. Just because Eddie did not meet the blue man, he doesn't realize that his actions could've still effected the Blue Man.

Mickey Shea was trying to tell Eddie how to shoot. Mickey was telling Eddie to have no hesitation or guilt when it comes to shooting someone. Yet, Eddie knows that's a life that he is affecting, and could be very damaging. Mickey Shea is clearly showing that he is more careless than Eddie. Eddie knows that if he shoots someone, he could really effect their life/ health.

Whilst in the war, Eddie learned somethings. One of them being how easily it is to lose a friend, and fellow solider. That they could be talking, and the next second his comrade could be dead. Because of the war, Eddie became to know what it was like to loose friends so quickly. He lost so many friends in the war, that it was normal for men to die that quickly.

Eddie and his fellow soldiers got captured by 4 guards in Viet. Eddie and his men had the strength to fight them off. The captain had stepped on a line mine and died. So in honor of his death, beating the 4 guards was a contribution to captains death. All of the men wanted to get their revenge on the guards for taking their Captain.

Eddie was so mad at the captain for shooting him in the leg. Yet, Eddie doesn't realize that him being shot was the sole thing that kept him alive. Eddie was about to run into a fire and try to save someone who wasn't even there. That since the captain shot Eddie's leg, he is alive, otherwise Eddie would've gotten killed in the fire. Even though the shot did affect Eddie for the rest of his life, it saved him.

Eddie was with his family in the hospital whilst Eddie was recovering from his injuries. It is Eddie's birthday, so his mom got him a cake to celebrate. Eddie's mom lit the candles on the cake. Yet while Eddie is looking at his cake, he gets a flashback from being in the fire. He is instantly taken back, and reminded of his war days.

Even though Eddie looks up to his dad, they still have arguments. Eddie and his dad got into an argument about Eddie getting a job. Eddie's dad got mad at him and started yelling at him because he was depressed and sad after the war. Yet, in this reaction Eddie responds by getting up to confront his dad, and in doing that he got up with his bad knee. Which his dad wanted Eddie to do so he could prove to him that Eddie could actually stand.

Eddie was talking with Ruby about being in heaven. He was asking Ruby if Eddie could go back to return to his old life. Yet, she was confused because in heaven, everything is perfect. He wanted to go back to earth to see if he saved the little girl. He was curious to see if he could save the girl.

Eddie finally realizes who he was talking to. Eddie has recognized Ruby from pictures at the pier, and seeing old photos of her. Eddie was stunned to realize he was talking to the owners wife. He has nearly dedicated a good part of his life to that pier, so Eddie was stunned when he met Ruby. Ruby, the one who gave the name to the Ruby Pier.

During the war, Eddie saw a figure in a fire whilst he was on the battlefield. He swore he saw someone in the hut. Even though his other soldiers said that there wasn't, there was someone in that pit. And it was Tala. Tala was trying to hide from soldiers, and when she went into the pit, a fire started. Eddie met Tala in heaven, even though Eddie tried to save Tala, he couldn't and didn't.

Eddie was convinced that his life did not has any meaning or worth. Just working at Ruby Pier, and that was nothing special. Yet, Tala explains to Eddie how he is saving children and keeping them safe. That his job is important and the work he did on earth affected many others. Eddie didn't even realize it, but he was keeping children and all people safe everyday.

Eddie did save the little girl from the falling cart. Yet, Eddie now became one of the people that this little girl will meet in heaven one day. Eddie did not know why he met all of the random people in heaven, until he realized that they all saved Eddie somehow. All of the 5 people that Eddie met in Heaven somehow effected Eddie's life severely. Now Eddie gets to be one of the people that somehow saved this little girl.

Eddie did not know if the girl that he tried to save lived or died. Eddie felt the little girls hands, so he was quite sure that she did not make it. Yet, Eddie was wrong. Those little girls hands were Tala's, Tala was puling Eddie to heaven to keep him safe. Eddie did in fact save the little girl that he pushed out of the way, it was just Tala's hands that were pulling him to heaven.
