There are many characters in it that all have very important roles. It is a book in a world where there are magical creatures and things. If you can think of it, there is a chance of it being put it. Fable Haven is not only a series of twists and turns for good and bad, its a set of books where you want to keep reading. The book is paints a vivid picture in your head. The author, Brandon Mull, is very talented and goes into great detail at times. I do not want to give away any parts of the book, but I highly recommend this book.

There are lots of things you need to know in order to comprehend this book. If you can comprehend the books big words and creative expressions, this may be the book for you. I am going to be totally honest, I'm not much of a reader. But Brandon Mull and his writing in the Fable Haven series makes me want to be a reader more. Often times when there is a big battle between the forces of light and darkness, you feel like you're right alongside the characters in battle. Having this affect while you're reading seems to pull you into a trance and suddenly you realize that you've been reading for an hour and you have read 75 pages.

Overall, this is a very splendid book that anyone can enjoy. When I first started reading the first book, I thought this was going to be a lame series of magical fairy tales, and boy was I wrong. When you read this book you seem to go on riveting adventures that the characters are constantly going on. While reading you can sort of draw conclusions ahead of time about what is going to happen, and just when you think you were right, you were totally wrong and are surprised at the outcome. The book might not go the way you wanted it too, but this just adds to more excitement for the next sequel. It is a very gruesome tale about a time where people's lives are totally controlled by the government. In the book, a girl named Katniss Everdeen is sent off to the Hunger Games. Nobody expects her to win because she is from a very poor district, District 12. But of course, like most books, she beats the odds and wins the hunger games with another boy from her district named Peeta Mellark. Your name is put into the bowl when you're 12 years old and another one of your names gets put in each year after that until you are eighteen. If you get chosen for the games, there is no backing out. Its kill or be killed.

When I first got into the book, I thought that it had a good plot and was extremely well written. Suzanne Collins is a very talented author who has an amazing gift on being able to but you in the story. For example, when Katniss got into the games and she couldn't find water, Suzanne Collins made it clear that this was a huge problem, and that Katniss was in extreme pain and danger. I was absolutely shocked and wanted to read more and more to see what happened next. Although I had already seen the movie and new what happened, this was different, it was extremely intense and it helped to really understand just what was going on.

I'm going to be totally honest, I don't think that The Hunger Games is a book for everyone. Although, it is very interesting and good book, some parts of it got a little gory and sent shivers down my spine. The extraneous ways that the author found to kill people off was pretty wild. While reading the book I just kept thinking of how awful this whole thing is. But I had to know what happened. Carl Hiaasen is a very talented author who knows how to keep his readers in suspense. Hoot is about a city in Florida called Coconut Cove where a pancake place wants to build on a plot of land where protected owls burrow. The pancake company tries to play it off like there are no owls there so that they'll be able to build their 469th Mother Paula's restaurant. Mother Paula's is the name of the pancake place. The main character is a boy names Roy and he just moved to town. He makes a couple of friends. Two of those friends are named Beatrice and Mullet Fingers. Mullet Fingers really wants to save the owls, so he tampers with the construction site and delays their progress to protect the owls. Roy decides to help Mullet Fingers save the owls. Beatrice helps Mullet Fingers because he is her step-brother.

When reading the book, I already knew the outcome because I have seen the movie. But, like any book-movie story, they have their differences and similarities. The overall outcome is the same though. Carl Hiaasen was able to connect me with the story in a way that the movie couldn't. Some of the chapters were ended with cliff hangers, and I really love when authors do this. It makes me want to read more and more, even if I know the out come. Wonder is one of a reader's biggest weaknesses. Great authors always use the readers curiosity to get glued into their books and want to read more. Carl Hiaasen is able to harness this gift and turn his writing into an enjoyable way to spend time.

Hoot is definitely a book for anyone. It is friendly and happy. There are few curse words in it, but if you can get past that, then you'll really enjoy it. After all, who doesn't love All-American buttermilk pancakes. Also, who couldn't root for a group of kids trying to save a protected animal from being buried alive. How can you not root for the kids in this situation.
