The poem I selected is titled "Seeds". It is an easy read and talks about the cycles of seeds. Specifically, it talks about perennials which come back each year. Similarly, my article talked about the difference between plants and which ones come back each year. This article is from Newsela and is titled, "Some plants come back year after year". Additionally, this are both written at a similar reading level (lower elementary) which is important.
https://newsela.com/read/elem-spring-flowers/id/42589/

I liked it because it changes readers to take notice of what is going on around themselves and also the change within themselves. One line specifically ties into seasons and how they bring a cycle of change. While my article talked about flowers in the spring time and it highlighted their cycles and the science behind it. These two resources would fit well together because they both illustrate change in a visual way. Students will be challenged to think about plants, seasons, and other change they notice in the world around them.
