For me the album was a booming success, although it was a huge departure from the bands roots. It exemplified Ratliffs definition of mood. The entire album is engulfed in this dark, gritty, apocalypse type feeling that you cant shake. Pitchfork did a review of the album, and agreed with me of it being an astounding success for the virtual band, and they can see this formula and creating so much more then a fabricated rock band experience. The album only has a few songs that I didn't particularity like, and for the most part it was just because of the placement of them in the line up. I might have liked the opening track Ascension more if it was placed elsewhere, because its so aggressive it felt like I was getting slapped in the face first thing in the morning.
