They had "runners" to deliver their message because the Incan empire was so big. The runners were called chasquis. The Incan Empire had flourished and became the place you know as "Peru". It became Peru in the 1400's C.E.

There were two people who had a very strong influence on the Incas. Those people were called the "Moches". The empire was well organized even though they had to rule over 10 million people. Their capital was located in the mountains of Southern Peru. Their capital was called "Cuzco". To me the name Cuzco is very unique. There is a legend that people were descended from a place called Inti, which is the sun of god.

The there were three main structures, the top was the emperor and his family, nobles, and lastly commoners. The top emperor ruled with all authority. The Sapa could have many wives and children. The Second level was basically helpers to the leader. They had privileges like land, servants, llamas, clothing and more. Within that level there were also three other levels. For example there was Capac Incas and Hahua Incas. The Capac controlled a few things, but not as much. Commoners, most people were commoners. The men built roads etc and women --Ava

Families that were in Inca were in large groups. They would be called groups, clans, they were all called "allyus". A allyu is the foundation or the society of the Incans. Each one of their allyu had their own farmland. The people of the allyu made crops and had produced some of their goods. The citizens of allyu were in authority of the curacas. The curacas had to make sure that the allyus paid their taxes. Children of most of their families did not have education. They just learned the skill they needed to know from their elders. The sons of nobles had tutors, or amautas.

The most important god to the Incas was the Inti god, the sun god. They believed in a lot of different types of gods, they all were gods of nature though. The Incans believe that their is a spirits that dwelled in certain places or even objects. The things are called "huacas". The very important temples were the ones for Inti. Just like the Aztecs and the Maya, the Incans also sacrifice things for their gods. There were also some times where there were chosen women and they were sacrificed. They did not only practice sacrifices and rituals. The priests also had practiced divination, that is the art of telling the future. There were some girls who were the chosen ones and they get to go live in a convent. That is the place where they can go study the Incan religion.

They had a lot of ways to bring people to theirs empire. Instead of declaring war they sent over a delegate. The delegate informed them that they can join the Inca Empire. They could have peace and prosperity. If they did not want to do that then there was war between them, the Incan army was very strong. If the tribe had resisted and they had a war.
