  • introduction - introduce the topic and talk a little bit about the overall concept and idea of the “uncanny” and the “unheimlich.”
  • What is uncanny? The unheimlich? How is it shown in media and art? (Looking at different movies or books such as Coraline, alien, the ring, also bring up artists, new and old, who implement these types of themes in their work, David Lynch, Man Ray.)
  • Why does the uncanny evoke such strange feelings? Are we feeling anxiety and fear of something that we have repressed? (Bringing in the ideology behind Liminal spaces, dreamwork. Delving deeper into freud's concept of why we feel the things we do, what certain aspects trigger certain things etc.)
  • Counter theories that discuss the same topic, but approach the meaning and outlook in a different way. (Counter the theory discussed with other arguments such as Lacan’s theory or Jetsch theory, etc. use these other theories to build on my own opinion of the topic and further bring in even more research to back up the response to my question i’m slowly building, talk about my work and how it compares or differs to these theories, similarities and etc.)
