COURSE DESCRIPTION
* Unlike the other Cohorts, you are enrolled in a fast track course to familiarize you with navigation and course creation/management in Canvas LMS. It will be faster and simpler, relying on you to push yourself to be more than just a "light user."
* The best way to answer Canvas questions? Speak to a neighbor who is using it in the classroom or google your specific question. If that doesn't work, ask ME or look at our custom MHS Canvas support page.

                 COHORT 1                 
* During Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning meetings, we will focus on content creation--this will be workshop time for you to create (it's what you have been asking for!). Please remember to bring something to work on.

                 COHORT 2               
* During Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning meetings, we will focus on helping you with any area of your choice. The number 1 area of concern is creating quizzes, so we will have experts from Cohort 1 here to help you in the process. CANVAS WILL REPLACE ME.
No technology can ever replace a teacher or classroom instruction. This is meant to be a new piece in the multifaceted ecosystem we call MHS. 
2. EVERYTHING MUST GO INTO CANVAS. No one has said this. We just said the fewer places that people have to go, the easier it is to find things. 
3. STUDENTS GOING TO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES AND GETTING A BIT CONFUSED IS A GOOD THING. THIS IS WHAT THE REAL WORLD IS LIKE. Not at all. Rigor and tediousness are different things. Research says sending students to 12 different places per day (2 per class on average) just confuses and frustrates students because it is not meaningful to spend time clicking. Having to use three websites, 4 links, 2 attachments, 4 Google Classroom classes, SeeSaw, IC, nd checking emails for HW is what Canvas hopefully eliminates.
4. THIS IS A RAM AND CRAM INITIATIVE! Well, if giving people the chance to volunteer 18 months and 24/7 support/training with no pressure is ram and cram, I'm not sure what pace you would suggest but I'm still open to suggestions.  
5. SO MANY CHANGES ARE BEING THROWN AT US AT THE SAME TIME--I agree with this one. This is why we have the most talented and able instructors, and our kids arguably get the best education anywhere. I don't blame anyone for feeling overwhelmed! 5x5, Canvas...et al. You are awesome! 👏🏻
6. NO ONE LISTENS.--I can only speak to this initiative, and say that we modify every session based on the feedback you provide. We meet with Canvas every week, speak with them daily, and our team convenes multiple times per week where teachers' and students' needs are the primary focus of our planning. When you call, we pick up the phone and scramble to help in every way possible.
