I have been a substitute teacher for 6 months.  When all is complete I will have endorsements in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Prior to this I worked in the corporate world for almost 20 years as a Sales Manager for pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.

I am married  with 2 dogs and a cat,and live in Illinois about 2.5 hours  west of Chicago.

My youngest daughter is a nationally competitive figure skater- so most of my time is spent working then at the ice rink almost everyday. I can usually be found grading papers and shivering while she skates.

Many people have asked me why I made such a big career change at 38 years old. I as very successful, made a lot of money, etc..

But, I was not happy.  I was in between jobs last spring and had held my sub license for a long time, but had just never used it. I decided to sub while I looked for a new job after the company I was with closed due to financial hardship.

That first day I was in the classroom it hit me. This felt right. I was finally happy going to work. 

I just finished teaching ELA 7th grade for a full quarter when another teacher was out on maternity leave. I had to leave quickly after the last day last week before I ugly cried in front of the kids.
