The American involvement within the war of 1812 was as a response to British encroachment on American authority and power. The Americans, despite not having manifested Canada, were able to win defensive battles against the British, and capture British warships "frigates". These triumphs permitted America to be respected internationally for their power, and sovereignty, and overall is considered, in this perspective, to have developed the nation, as their flag and anthem draws inspiration from these events.

That the British had relations with native American who opposed American expansion of the west.
2. The British attempted to regulate American trade with Europe.
2. American ships were surveyed by the Royal Navy to inspect for British subject who could be used for British services.

In general, the war of 1812 was viewed as a successful conflict, one which encouraged the growth of America as an independent nation, and gained them international respect. This influence of this war includes the west ward expansion of America free of resistance from opposing native American, or British intervention (aligning with the manifest destiny ideals). This war also allowed for the American flag to be sanctified (demonstrating American patriotism, valor, and victory), and inspired the national anthem for America.
