In The Temporary mater the relationship between Shoba and Shukumar was originally going well at the beginning but after the loss of their baby they lost that bond and became really distant to one another. Shoba tries to distract her mind by working none stop and Shukumar is going through depression and he suddenly becomes lazy after his baby's death and stays home most of the day.  both of them have been damaged by this event in some type of way.
