Grace shapes Lutheran Education through all members living out the Gospel by serving others and showing the Grace shown to us through Jesus Christ to all we interact with. 

This makes our Lutheran Education spaces places of deep and forgiving love, building understandings of diverse cultures, learning styles and capabilities of people and creating a culture of Growth Mindset and positivity.

Listening to this podcast linked Lutheran identity in a Lutheran school: Rachel Boyce (28m24s) reinforced for me that God's strength works through me and through this I can show Grace to others.

What does this mean for me today, tomorrow and moving forward?

My goal is to find joy in the daily moments, see God through the sunrises I see when I walk every morning, surround myself with love and kindness, so I can best benefit the community/communities I work and live in

This question guided my thoughts throughout the day of learning. I spent time in prayer and reflection on how all people I interact with were created by God for a purpose.

How does creation theology shape an aspect of your work with students?

That each child I interact with has been created by God for his vision and it is my role to support all learners in following this path. That no matter how these students come to me, this is and they are God's plan for them and for me. That education is preparation for the workforce, and for future success. However if I look deeper at this for me it is about resilience and flexibility. That students leave education feeling they can reach  goals, think flexibly and make growth, changing their thinking and learning from mistakes with confidence. Building connection with students and families to share this knowledge is key.

As educators we can not settle for preparing learners for the future that is, as this future is changing at a pace we can not fathom and it is our role to prepare for the unknown with courage.

He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Creation is ongoing and eternal, we have a shared responsibility at GS to be sharing and continuing this.

creation was as God intended it to be. It is still good even though there is brokenness. God invites us to share in the joy and wonder of creation. ‘Good’ also means we are free to explore God’s amazing creation 

God creates people in God’s image as unique individuals ...
each person has individual worth and importance in the eyes of God. Created as a unique individual with distinctive characteristics, gifts and abilities. 

God invites people to be co-creators to restore the brokenness of creation through Jesus ...
God works through people in the ongoing creative process caring for and protecting creation and creating new life. As educators we co-create the minds of children supporting them to wonder, be curious, celebrate their gifts. Our own minds continue to be created as lifelong learners.

    It is not always easy, we should be sharing and unburdening ourselves whilst taking on the burdens of others , we don’t have to do this alone

    Community is everything, it is God's plan

    A goal for me is to build positivity within our teaching team. I can do this by

    Behind the text…..

    The city Jonah was forced to go to through the call of God was a terrible place, and although he was desperate to escape, even in death, that God has a greater plan.

    God’s plan community is deep, he sends his warriors into places of distrust and disquiet 

    God will provide clarity, but Jonah always questions

    We do not wish to tread in places we fear but we draw on our faith and go in trust

    Through His word and promises
    The evidence of God’s creation is clear if we take the time to be still and look.

    The above Psalm is something that I continue to reflect and grow through in times of both joy and struggle knowing that God is along, ahead and beside me in times that I have known this and through times I have chosen to forget.

    What does Creation tell us about God

    My experience of Creation tells me that there is a deeper connection between people, nature, the world.

    When I meet someone and feel a sense of knowing, when I look at a rock washed smooth in a river, when I share a time of joy or pain with another human when I see a sun rise over a new morning it is a sense of greater purpose, a deeper plan, a knowing and a chosen journey that has been planned for a time longer than me.

    The nature of God
    God has a plan
    God knows that I am doing my best and shows me Grace as I show Grace to others

    The struggle

    Why does bad things happen to good people, some people work so hard doing their best every day but their mountain gets steeper and steeper. When will their descent come?

    Worldview

    Although people are Christian, their view of the Bible and the scriptures can be different and this is something to take into consideration as we work within Lutheran education.

    Connect
    God has been revealed to us through the Bible and through the giving of his son Jesus Christ.

    Lutherans believe that God has a plan for us.

    Extending my idea that God is around us and with us with a plan

    How do I teach Christian Studies and support our families when their view of the Bible or Christianity is different to the Lutheran view

    The importance of God’s word and listening to God’s message of hope and leading through devotion and worship is a key part of the Lutheran system
