On the Oregon Trail I lost very early on and then I died of Cholera. The problems I ran into were though. For instance, it was hard when all of my kids died and we ran out of food. I think this game is very similar to those that traveled the Oregon Trail because we know they got very sick and many died as well. I had a lot of fun playing this game, especially when you get to go hunting. I just do as I've done in real life and imagine the shot feeding us. I skillfully take aim, patiently waiting for the right moment. Overall this was a good game.

The game was more difficult than I expected. People were getting sick, people died, and the wagon kept on breaking. In real life, it took longer to get to the destination. Yes, I had fun. It made me want to keep people alive.

I did not know I did as well as I did until I compared statistics with others. Although I had a lot of problems like diseases and constant wagon breakdowns, I still got a score of 2173 on the first try. I also struggled from the lack of food in the beginning. All of these issues were easy to resolve, which made the game kind of easy. I can't make an estimate about the contrast other than to suggest the situations seem realistic, and those originally blazing the trail west were brave sun-of-a-guns. In other words it was a little fun.

As i finished the game of oregon trail I thought I did pretty well knowing that I finished without having a single family member die, made it before winter, and ended with 1118 points. Usually the biggest problem was figuring out the best and cheapest way to cross a river without losing anything or dying. Although I found the game quite easy because of how short it is compared to the original game. I found the game surprisingly fun, I think I thought this because the randomness of everything caused an exciting type of chaos.

I will choose to believe that I did fairly well. Most of my problems were my members kept getting sick and thieves would come steal supplies when the sun fell. The game was more difficult than i expected. I think i would be taking care of several others and I think i would have separate options as to which path or career I would take. I think the game was a similar to the trail as you could get when playing an interactive game. They had the fleet of people, the number of days, names of the different supplies’, landmarks and all that. Although the people on the trail probably didn't know what their health as well as others was on a daily basis. I did have fun playing the game because It held my attention and was creative.

I died on my way to Fort Hall. In the beginning, shortly after the Kansas River Crossing encounter, I lost 3 of my children for unknown reasons. Later, everyone else died from cholera. It was kind of comedic, however, because two of my children lost all of their arms and legs before passing away. I wasted all of my bullets while hunting for game, because I forgot I had a limited supply of them. However, I had fun overall, with both naming the characters and divvying up the cash for the right supplies.

Surprisingly the game was real fun. It took me about 30 mins to beat it. I started March 1st and I got to Oregon right before December. I was booking it. I soon learned that there was no way to earn money so I was smart with the money I had. I also hunted a lot to get free food. Sadly two of my members died from snakebites. For a game made in the 90’s it was very realistic. I had fun with the game because I was doing good and the hunting was fun.

We had enough food and clothes most of the time anyway. We did run into problems, like Kent and Annie getting sick, and sometimes I wasn’t able to shoot enough food to eat. The difficulty level was about the same as I expected. Though it can’t have been nearly as difficult as the real Oregon Trail. Also the hunting isn’t accurately represented (squirrels don’t run right in front of your face). I guess I had fun, it had a survival objective.

After a seemingly endless round of playing the game more than 5 times, I quit after dying. But, after going back to play again, I was able to reach Oregon. For the most part, the only way to make it all the way there was to choose to be a banker because it gave you plenty of money and to leave during May. If you did not choose to do these things, you would run into a lot of sickness, thieves, a shortage of grass, and very little food. It was a lot more difficult than I would ever have thought, but it was actually quite fun. It was realistic. I’m sure anyone who had traveled the trail would run into just as many issues as the players of the game.

I had been a banker from Boston when I had started. It was surprisingly easy in the beginning but got extremely difficult near the end. It was quite fun and I played it several times because I could control my family's food supply like a god. Since I was a banker, I didn't need to conserve money. When I was nearly to Oregon, I started to slowly starve due to the fact I was not near towns to buy food. My story ended on the final step, floating on the river to Oregon when my raft hit a rock and killed my entire family, plus my oxen. It was very well made and took into account of many factors that happened in real life.

We did pretty okay, but we died at Ft Dallas. We tried to float down the river but we crashed into a rock. I all ways made sure that I had more than 100 pounds of food. A trick I learned is that when someone is sick move up the food rations to filling and rest for a day and their health goes back up, this didn't save them from drowning all at the same time though. I learned that the trail was not good and many people died.

I thought it was going to be easier but turns out dealing with food and health is a lot harder then I expected.

I think I did pretty well on the trying to navigate through the Oregon Trail in those conditions. At least only 2 people died before I made it to Willamette. Many issues that I ran into include the thieves, wagon fires, and dealing with food/water. there was also the slight issue with the river, but fortunately I didn't have those problems. The game was easier than I expected mostly because of the formatting (not sure if that's the right word) of the game where it only requires a handful of keys to use. I think it portrays the experience of the trail pretty well. It was easy for people, especially kids, to contract those diseases and suffer from those problems because the medical field wasn't that developed in the 1800's. It also gives us close to accurate depictions of time because back then its didn't take 2-8 hours to travel halfway across the country it took multiple months or even years. Honestly, I had fun playing the game. In fact, I was in that group of people who was addicted to playing the game, because of the simplicity and challenge of surviving of the game.

The heath was poor because of lack of water, but when I got to some of the rivers the heath went up. It was harder that I thought. It took me a while to figure out how to shoot. Also, I lost some days because some of my people would break their leg or from the wagon getting wet. I think it was pretty similar. People would run into problems like getting off trail, broken bones, wet wagons, snake bites, trading, and death. I thought it was fun. I like games that are pretty challenging like this was.

Some problems were that my members kept on getting sick and bad weather causing days to be wasted. This game to me was a little difficult to me because I'm not a person who could deal with caring for other members who don't do anything and since I didn't know what to do I failed a lot. I really felt like I was travelling through the Oregon Trail, having to care to my members and being wise with my money to buy things to help get through the trail. Even though I did really bad at this game. I made it to Oregon! I had a lot of fun playing this game and will keep on playing, until I get 4 members to Oregon.

Then at one point, my wagon caught on fire when it was snowing. The game was easy at first but then it got really hard because i ran out of money so i had to hunt and attempt to trade the whole time. My character in the real Oregon Trail game really resembles how people were thriving in the Oregon Trail. People had to worry about food, water, clothes they needed for weather, how much money they could spend, Native Americans throughout the trail, and thieves. Overall i think this game was really fun.

The Oregon Trail game was actually a very eye opening. I initially thought the game was going to be a breeze, but I was shortly proved wrong. The game definitely had its ups and downs, it tested your ability to be able to budget, which is a life skill. I do believe that the game is similar to how the journey on the Oregon Trail was. I loved how the game included the options of how to cross the river because that was a major part of the struggle during the trip to the west. Many settlers died crossing the rough rivers.

During my experience playing the game I ran into some trouble. My player was a banker so I started the game with 1,800 dollars, which was a major advantage. I made sure to spend most of my money on food since I knew we’d have a long, treacherous journey to Oregon. What surprised me the most was how easily everyone got sick. It really threw me off course, because it would effect how many days we rested. I actually did pretty well in the game; each person made it to Oregon in good condition. In conclusion I really enjoyed the game, it tested the way I think and made me think more in depth about my choices.

a) How did you do?: I decided to be a farmer at the start of the game because being a banker seemed lame and too simple. I had a few oxen lead the wagon while we traveled our way across the land. I knew there was only a few ways to gain money so I tried my best to be smart with it. Regardless of how much money you had, you can’t fight exhaustion or illnesses during this time period. A few of my family members had exhaustion and some of them died from diseases. For something that came out in the 90’s it was extremely realistic.

b) What problems did you run into on the trail?: There was so many problems! A lot of my family members got diseases and ended up passing away. Thieves would constantly come and steal my supplies when the sun fell. Also worrying about how much you have when it comes to supplies. You have to watch it or else you will run out of everything which could lead to death.

c) Was the game easier or more difficult than expected?: It seemed like it was just going to be an easy game, something a programmer threw together to try out new coding because they didn’t know what they’re doing yet. It was more difficult than I predicted.

d) How do you think the game is similar or different from the experiences of real people who went on the Oregon Trail? I think the game probably had to simplify it a little bit because this isn’t the actual Oregon Trail. I do believe this was as close as you could possibly get with an interactive game.

e) Did you have fun? Explain. Yeah, I can say I enjoyed it. It was kind of fun to have second hand experiences with something like this. It was portrayed in a very different way.

On my trip on the trail lots of things happened, some bad, some good. But overall I did well, I never ran out of food or supplies, which may have been a different story if I had been a farmer instead of a banker. On my trip there weren’t too many problems until the end, with all of it’s path and dangerous roads. As for the difficulty, as a banker playing isn’t hard at all, and I feel that it closely relates to people back them who crossed the trail. Easy for people with money, hard for those without. The game was long but in my opinion very fun.

I always got nervous on the rivers and we dealt with starvation and illness but they didn't give us too much trouble. This game was a little easier than expected and this could be linked to when people were moving west but with probably more factors and issues along the way. The first time I tried it, I thought 2 pounds of food would be enough, but it wasn't so my team and I died quickly. During the game, I didn't know what was going to happen next like whether one of my partners would die or if thieves would come and steal all of our stuff. That's how it went for the people on the trail because everyday, they didn't know what to expect on their journey.

On my Oregon Trail, I started off as a banker. Yes, you get less points in the end, but honestly I just wanted to get to the end of the game. (Which, I didn't, sadly.) I started off, picking the month of April. It was hard, as the characters would get random injuries, and things like that. Then, December came. December by far, is the WORST month in the game. I was stuck blizzard by blizzard, losing days and in the end it killed off my remaining Oregon Trail travelers. It was harder than expected, and I had many problems along the way. I know this isn't exactly the way the people traveled through Oregon, but I know it was similar. Although it must have been a lot harder considering there was no "roadside child birth" and then cannibalism in the Oregon Trail that I played. Overall, I had alot of fun though. Tying to dodge challenges by resting and hunting lots of animals, the game certainly kept my interest.

In the duration of this game I feel as though I played very poorly. Everyone died prior to our reaching our destination. We encountered heavy blizzards, thieves, diseases, broken body parts, oxen's dying, no one wanting to trade, deaths, and being held back due to going on the wrong trail, which is odd because I never chose to go those directions. It wasn’t hard nor difficult because I started off with no expectations. They must have been similar or else you wouldn’t have had you history class play the game. But everything is similar except there were probably more harsh things that would’ve happened on the way to wherever. Such being killed for your own goods, not knowing how to swim so it was harder to get over river, your oxen's freezing to death, not having food for the oxen's , getting attacked by animals while you were hunting, someone stealing your giant buffalo, and a lot of other events. If you consider my wanting to play again as having fun then yeah. It was fun “hunting” and seeing how bizarre some people’s trades are.

One of my most memorable moments while playing Oregon trail was when I was really close to winning and I was going through a river, then I slightly crashed into a rock and lost a couple of supplies. Luckily I didn't lose the game after a long time. I feel that this game is challenging and you have to play smart because one wrong choice can cost you. Challenges I faced was crossing rivers and choosing what I would do to cross the river and this was very risky. Another challenge was running out of food way to fast. I luckily won my second game I played of Oregon trail. This was my only game I had won out of 2 tries. Oregon trail was actually a bit easier than what I thought it would be. I had fun because all of the choices were slightly risky which made the game interesting to see what would happen with the choice you picked.

While I was hunting I shot five deer and three buffaloes. Gladly I got 3000 pounds of food but sadly I could only carry 200. I was on my last challenge and I lost my last two teammates because they had drowned. This made me feel sad because my companions were gone. The game was easier than I thought at first because some of the challenges were simple and others required luck. I had a lot of fun because it was a good game and it was really creative. I was however, having trouble keeping track of the amount of food we had remaining

We were presently surprised with our experience on the Oregon Trail on completing and flabbergasted when found out all of our crew members survived through this menacing trip. Some problems we ran into were the long resting days and the multiple people being injured at once. The games was easier than expected because we worked together and with our quick actions towards to the problems we were able to come back stronger. This game was very fun when you have a partner to help you make some difficult decisions on the trail.

Some Memorable moments that we had were when we would worry about our crew when they got sick or hurt. We would always try our best to ensure everyone's safety on the trip.
