It's good to keep in mind that you can't always be lucky with your project partners. On the other hand, we learn from everything, including from partner schools that may not meet our expectations. I think it's also always important to see the other side and how the partners might think or what they have in mind.

I also liked the idea of going directly to potential partner schools when the opportunity arises. The surprise factor may leave a positive impression.

I had never thought about how the slaves brought to Guadeloupe might have seen the ocean and that for them the ocean was not a promise of finding a new life somewhere else, but a gateway to endless suffering. The same ocean that saw people transported as cattle assured me once again today that we are nothing compared to nature and the power of the ocean. It is a symbolic way to finish the course at the end of the world where the next stop behind La Desirade is Africa where many people living on Guadeloupe have their roots.
