There was also evidence found the prenatal exposer to DDT may have been associated with delayed processing speed in children at the age of 7 and when exposed DDT can stay in the human body for decades.

Rachel Carson was an American marine biologist, writer, and conservationist whose book did a great job addressing the issues of this pesticide. She wrote that if humans continued to use these chemicals without limitations, the environment would be severely damaged. If the government didn't set laws to protect the environment, humans would soon experience a "silent spring," without bird noises. With her studies and words DDT was eventually banned. The way she chose to address this issue reflects the Ecocentric value system.
