It takes place every year on the 25-th of October in California, consequently, that is the very place, where I am going to celebrate this precious holiday. On this date it is accustomed to pay tribute to the famous farmer and a fighter for the rights of rural workers by means of doing any sort of farming and gardening. Therefore, I see no objection to paying homage to this hero. It goes without saying, that the holiday attracts me since Larry greatly changed the working conditions of rural workers for the better and it is truly estimable.

It is held all over the USA on October 31. Actually, it does not matter where precisely celebrate this spooky holiday owing to its scale. Probably, I will even stay in California. There are several traditions, which I am indisputably going to stick. One is the practice of pulling usually harmless pranks. Trick-or-treaters, wearing masks and particular costumes, go from house to house with the threat that they will pull a trick if they do not receive a treat, usually candy. One more tradition is to make the jack-o’-lantern, a hollowed-out pumpkin, originally a turnip, carved into a demonic face and lit with a candle inside. Also it is accustomed to decorate your house inside and outside as creatively as it is possible and, moreover, to compete with your neighbours. I am not sure whether I will have my own house in order to decorate it, but I will undoubtedly be wearing a certain costume and carving my own pumpkin. And, to crown the whole, the holiday attracts me due to its particular creepy, but frightfully joyful and unifying all people atmosphere.

Thanksgiving day as a federal holiday

It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November all over the country as well, but with accompanying days off. In fact, I see no occasion for moving from California too. There are several traditions, which personally I am going to uphold. By the bye, all of them are connected with a family. Sharing photos of the past year can be the first excellent way to spend some time with your family. The photos of friends, places to travel, pets and so on and so forth can be included. One more tradition to stick is playing board games, which let take delight in one another's presence and communication with your family on the whole. Although, if you do not feel an inclination to strain your brain, you're always capable of visiting your relatives, who live a great deal too far away to visit them on a daily basis. As I have already mentioned, I am eager to do all these things, as I occasionally do not have enough time for it. Actually, the holiday attracts me due to the chance to tribute all the things you have and the people surrounding you.
