         <description><![CDATA[<div>Note 1: A new focus on seeing bilingualism as an asset and valuing a second language.<br>Note 2: <br>Biliteracy, bilingualism, integrated ELD are new words used.<br>Summary or MVP:<br>The use of the term "assets-based" education supports that the second language is an asset and not a deficit. "Biliteracy and bilingualism" suggests that LAUSD doesn't want the student to forgo their home language but rather adopt English simultaneously. </div>]]></description>
