         <description><![CDATA[<div>Andrea, Barbara, Karen, Carlos<br><br><strong>Definition: </strong>As the name says, it is a mixture of different soil types such as sand, rock, clay, peat moss, etc.&nbsp;</div><div><br><strong>Chemical composition: </strong>Its main components are inorganic and organic components. For example, every single single organism that is in the process of decay that come from a living thing or inorganic that is components that come from nonliving things like rocks<br><br><br><strong>Importance: </strong>The importance of mixed soil is that it has more vitamins and different components than regular soils which help with the cultivation of a big variation of plants. This type of soil nourishes plants.<br>Besides mixed soil has a surface of plant residues that protects it from: rain, sun, and wind.<br><br><strong>Crops that can grow there:</strong> Lettuce, chard, snap beans,rice because it holds water. Humus soil promotes plant growth in a many ways.<br><br></div><ul><li><strong><em>Chemical Composition</em></strong></li></ul><div>It is made up almost entirely of decomposed plants and other organic materials. It provides most of the nutrients plants need along with trace amounts of metals and minerals. Humus is the most nutritious component for soil.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Definition: soil comprised of particles that are larger than 0.05 millimeters and smaller than 2 millimeters. They are granular soils that contain small rock and mineral particles.</div><div><br></div><div>Chemical Composition: Sandy soils are the result of the weathering and disintegration of a variety of rocks such as granite, limestone and quartz. The components of the sand may vary depending on the conditions.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Importance according to their functionality: Sandy soil is important for growing vegetables and fruits because it drains well. Plant root systems cannot spread well in dense, heavy clay soil. Sandy loam is the description often given for optimum garden soil.</div><div><br></div><div>Crops that can grow there: Although easy to cultivate and work, light sandy soils dry out quickly and are low in nutrients. When gardening on sandy soil it is important to select plants that will be happy in dry, infertile soils, as other plants will depend on expensive and environmentally questionable heavy watering and feeding. It becomes sticky when it is wet<br><br>Chemical composition:<br>The sheet units have the chemical composition (Al,Si)3O4<br><br>Importance:<br>The soil structure depends on the clay, since it retains nutrients in soil, reacts with H and Al ions, while buffering the soil against the extreme pH changes. <br>Also it may be a source of nutrients when it degrades.<br><br>Soils with few clay have simple structures while soils with more clay have complex structures and a multimodal pore-size distribution.<br><br>References:<br>Newman, A.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Definition: Stony soils is the ground that contains lots of stones and rocks. <br><br>Chemical composition:Siliceous stone has as its main element, silica, or silicon dioxide (SiO2). Most stone from volcanoes is siliceous.<br><br>Argillaceous stone has as its main element alumina AlO2). It, along with its compounds, comes from feldspar in the crust.<br><br>Calcareous stone is made up mostly of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), or lime. Its pH is between 7.1-8.0.<br>It is a soft, white, porous sedimentary carbonate rock, a form of limestone composed of the mineral calcite. Calcite is an ionic salt called calcium carbonate or CaCO3 - It forms under reasonably deep marine conditions from the gradual accumulation of minute calcite shells.<strong><em><br></em></strong><br><strong>Importance</strong><br><br>-In agricultural limestone is a soil additive made from pulverized limestone or chalk. Some effects of agricultural limestone, are:<br>1. Soil acidity is reduced and alkalinity increased.<br>2. Provides a source of calcium and magnesium for plants.<br>3.
