Then, we had to write a sample sentence of the word we chose, include a picture and put the word in a different color. Also, we had to include a recording of the sentence we created. For this, we had to work in pairs and use Google Docs.
I did this activity with my classmate Monserrat Pérez and we did it as soon as the class ended, it didn't take us more than 15 minutes. We looked through the text and we decided to choose the word “Goal.” We received feedback and corrected the mistakes we had made.
I think this activity was very easy to do, but at the same time, it helped me to know more about words I didn't know or didn't understand. One of the difficult parts was to use Google Docs and Vocaroo because I didn't know how to use them, but now I have learned. For this activity, I had to use the app Flipgrid, and in one minute I had to introduce myself, telling personal things about me, all of this so people can know me better. This was the first time I ever used Flipgrid, but I found that the app was very easy to use, and I had used it in other activities and assignments.
Personally, I found this activity very interesting, it was a great way to know more about my classmates since we can’t see each other in person. Also, thanks to this activity I could finally see some of my classmate's faces!
Yet, I still struggled with the activity because it was a video. I got very nervous while recording it, and it took me a long time to finally upload it. I’m very timid, and these types of activities are difficult for me. The paragraph should have a topic sentence, at least three supporting sentences and a concluding sentence, with a minimum of 90 words.
I decided to write my paragraph about the different ways I have changed my “normal” lifestyle to a healthier one, explaining my motivation for this, which was my dad’s illness, mostly because this was a wake-up call to me. The paragraph itself wasn’t so difficult as a believed, and I didn’t have any major problems with it. The feedback I received after the first draft was very nice, making the correction easier for me because I only had to add more information to my paragraph.
To be honest, I did find this assignment a little tedious, but it did help me to understand better the correct structure of a paragraph. I also learned a lot from the class itself, the teacher explained it very clearly. I had to write a brief composition about my own thoughts related to the topic, the text “I don’t have time for this.” I had to use my knowledge of simple sentences, compound sentences and direct quotations, with a minimum of 100 words.
I enjoyed doing this assignment because the text itself was very nice, and I could relate to the story a lot, making it a great learning experience. That’s why I could write a long composition. When I sent my draft, I actually received no negative feedback, and the teacher liked my composition. I was very happy that day.
I think that with this assignment I could learn correctly the difference between a simple and a compound sentence, while also making use of quotations on a text. I didn’t know these things before, and I believed they didn't matter that much, but now I can see that I was wrong. They make a big difference when you are writing a text!]]> 2021-01-04 23:19:32 UTC https://padlet.com/FranJaraArias/uajsc6edmgzupt6z/wish/1053932713 FranJaraArias https://padlet.com/FranJaraArias/uajsc6edmgzupt6z/wish/1085515613 At first, I didn't know what an e-portfolio was, and I thought it was going to be a very difficult final project, but I actually really liked doing this virtual portfolio, I didn’t expect that!
Doing this semester in an online way was a very tough challenge. I had a lot of problems with online classes because of personal reasons. I thought I was not learning, but after a month or so, I started to get used to them. This was thanks to my awesome teachers and my very helpful classmates.
I also realized that I loved learning about new apps or websites (like this one). I didn’t even know that some of them even existed! 
This e-portfolio was a way to reflect about what I learned during this semester in the class "Comprehensive Reading in English", while showing my favorite activities or assignments from the class. I’m really proud of it. I think my writing skills have grown so much.
