Usually knitting and crocheting by hand is a labor of love. It is historically a hand-craft performed by women for the comfort and economic benefit of their families. This piece caught my eye because I think the contrast between the material and the original object is humorous. The original controller is supposed to be about quickness and technology, while concrete/fossilization is about ancient heaviness. It also makes me think about what future civilizations will think of us when they find the remnants of our society, and we aren't around anymore to explain it.  2. Most of the time when we think of concrete as a material, we think of utilitarian uses like buildings, parking lots, or maybe fountains, etc. I like that this artist is using concrete for a sculptural purpose without a typical use or function. 3. The pouch is made out of velvet and is adorned with sewn glass beads. From a distance one could mistake it for embroidery. This piece is fairly recent. Only around a 120 or so years old. For that reason it makes me sad that there is no artist attributed to this piece. There are several Europeans artists that are much older who's names haven't been erased. The effects of colonialism have stripped the individuality and the art from many. In the boy's hands he holds two things, meat from the butchers, and a beaker with liquid. That beaker is the reason why I chose this painting. I have no clue why Velazquez would paint a beaker in a painting where a woman is cooking eggs. The mystery of it is quite appealing.     1. I have always loved the origami cranes they were literally my first origami that i ever made and i remember when i taught myself how to make them at that moment I was making one for everyone! For me personally they were hard to make at first but with time i got the idea of how to make the special edges its just a matter of practice makes perfect. 
    2. The crane is a symbol of good fortune and longevity and if you make whats called a "Senbazuru" which is basically 1,000 cranes you can be granted one wish but it has also been a symbol of hope during tough times.
    3.     2. I thought it was very cool how this was intended to be as postcard but more importantly the simple matter of how it display a person trying to get away from another would give a hint as to what the painting is portraying as avoiding someone or something from someone.

The one thing that caught my attention about this art work mural are the eyes of both pictured looking up even the reflection and detail in their eyes is something that i absolutely love to see. Seen how the artist even details the shadows between both faces as well as give both characters their unique features is incredibly detailed and awesome to see however both their eyes have the same reflection which i find even more incredibly detailed but it does leave you with the question of what are they looking at that has caught both their attention? 
    3.The concept has a more deeper meaning and i believe that is what makes its value however every picture has a different meaning as well as this one.     • When I saw this piece I was instantly filled with the feeling of warmth and comfort. It looks like a calm evening in the forest and there’s something so tranquil about it. I wouldn’t say it’s better or worse but each one has its own charm to it and I’ve seen other landscapes but this one just stood out to me. I think what made this piece so interesting to me is the small places where you can see the sunlight coming in through the forest. And really what made this piece was the skill of the artist for them to have someone see the painting and think of the warm sun that shines on the water and trees.

I enjoy the floral designs on the horn as well. This may seem kind of obscure, but the horn also reminds me of a passage out of the book of Revelation in the Bible; this particular passage says that the seven trumpets will sound, signaling a time of rejoicing in Heaven, and a time of God’s wrath being poured out on Earth. As a Christian, I couldn’t help but be reminded of my studies when I saw that ceramic horn.

    • What I really like about this piece is the detail on the draping of the cloth and the hair. I liked that  the statue is kind of like she is leading  because she stands strong with her figure pointed. She also has some math tools in hand which it says signifies the restrain of reason and control over physical urges. I saw other pieces made of marble and they were good but this one is the one that stood out to me due to the detail. I think what really made this piece was the reasoning behind it. And it all makes sense because of her stance she has to restrain and control herself over her physical urges because she is leading.

I thought that the way the different shades of green layered on top of each other gave the vase a lot of depth and looked like rolling hills in the distance. The carved bandings are made with different colored clays and the overall vase is made of stoneware. I thought this piece was extra special because of the unique curved lines and rounded shape but also the more structured shaped as well. If you look closely you can see that the base of the vase is actually triangle shaped rather than round. I thought it was extremely impressive how Miyashita was able to portray both soft roundness and sharp edges with her ceramic. You can tell the trees have layers and a lot detail to make them so real looking and the giraffe is also so perfect as if you can see it walking around in sunset. It almost feels as if you are right there watching the giraffe walking next to the trees. One day I hope I have the opportunity to travel to Africa and see this with my own eyes. I think this sculpture has more value due the amount of detail is has. It must have taken the artist a good amount of time to work on this especially because of how detailed it is with all the small engravings and removing someone the wood to create the 3d trees and to show that there is a sunset in the background.

I find it exceptional because just knowing that is was from a time so long ago it just really wows me. It might sound corny but I’ve always like watching the movie “The Mummy” or “The Mummy Returns” and seeing how the Egyptians dressed back then in all the beautiful jewelry. From this collar I this it gets its value from the time frame It was made of, and the material used.

After reading that there are more than 2,000 flowers and weighing over 40,000 pounds it just blows my mind, so the artist must have taken a good amount of time creating this and the critical thinking involved due to lighting in the back and how that can also affect how the piece looks. I think just the talent this artist has makes the value of this piece.

What caught my attentions was the mermaids because they were part of my childhood I remember just loving how free and beautiful they are in the sea and wanting to be like them. This piece is more interesting to me than other pieces because subtle but entertaining to look at how different sides can come together with light and dark themes. I think the value comes more from the material itself because it demonstrates a beauty in darkeness in my opinion.

The pink glistening in the light is serene to look at for me.  Since I’ve also always loved the ocean as well as the artist I like the calmness of shells and how they’re connected to the ocean.  What makes this piece exceptional to me is how it’s unique I haven’t seen many colorful shells and much less iridescent that looks baby blue from one side and baby pink from another.  The value comes from the piece itself because it has curves and in the depth of them it’s a darker shades of a baby purple.

This stands out to more than other pieces because how it’s not straight but instead curved and it’s rare that people make them like that.  The value is more in the concept because it gives a negative object a positive effect with making it more bright and outstanding.

That makes more sense, but still, I would think that something this would be used primarily for ceremony. Imagine you're in battle and someone steals your helmet, or even worse, they hit you on your helmet. The stable or tunnel in the background uses advanced perspective and almost appears as an optical illusion. The bright colors and strong lines have been well preserved in this form. Frescoes were also popular at the time but did not age nearly as well.

This transition seems like it requires patience and skill as the Le Parc must carefully craft each line symmetrically and the shapes evenly to bring the concept to life. Overall, Metamorphosis of a Line is an example of how art can transform a seemingly simple and static object into a piece that you can visualize. Most of the time, you cannot fire pottery with small detailing because it’ll mean that those pieces can easily break off. In my opinion, this piece is more interesting than other examples of the same material because there is a strong symbolism of aquatics. I enjoy the koi fish design and the swirl designs on the top of the bottle because it reminds me of an octopus, which is also another water animal. I find that this object has more value than other porcelain art because it has a more interesting design than most. I believe that the value of this object is a lot higher than most because of the precision. Obviously, gold, precious metals, and jewels are valuable. However, considering the fact that this artist put a lot of time and energy into creating clean and sharp shapes, the value of the art skyrockets.

The layer of marble on the top looks so realistic. It seems as if I could just unveil the woman, but both the woman and the "fabric" are of the same material: cold, gray marble.     I like the fact that every thing that they use is natural. I would never have though to use seeds to make music.  I like that music can be made from absolutely nothing at all. How instruments are made holds a very significant cultural value.

This artist would need to be skilled in many techniques such as wood work, carving and painting. Painting all the designs and little details by hand require a lot time and patience.

All I saw were cut outs of people, trees, and animals. It wasn't until I read the article about this piece that I realized the art was in toilet paper rolls. This meant that the art was 10 times harder to make because of how tiny every detail is. I chose this piece primarily because of the variety of things it encompasses. I like the diversity shown in the piece and its beauty in bringing it all together. Although there is no color in this artwork, none is needed. The impact of the figures is enough to catch anyones attention. In Asian cultures, buddhists cherish these two colors as it'ssought out to be "lucky." What really caught my eye was the carvings of the leaves, the tiny deatils of the throne on his head. Just thinking about how much effort it took to collect all the items, let alone create something like this is insane. I like how he used the toys to create texture in the artwork. The way the toys are positioned make it feel like there is movement all around the piece.
