Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area and the fourth-largest country by land area. Canada's border with the United States is the world's longest binational land border. The majority of the country has a cold or severely cold winter climate, but southerly areas are warm in summer. Canada is sparsely populated, the majority of its land territory being dominated by forest and tundra and the Rocky Mountains. It is highly urbanized with 82 per cent of the 35.15 million people concentrated in large and medium-sized cities, many near the southern border. One third of the population lives in the three largest cities: Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Its capital is Ottawa, and other major urban areas include Calgary, Edmonton, Quebec City, Winnipeg and Hamilton.

Ottawa is the capital of Canada. The city is situated along the Ontario side of the Ottawa River, opposite Gatineau, Quebec. The metropolitan population of Ottawa is 1.1 million and is currently the fourth largest city in Canada, and the second largest in Ontario after Toronto. Unique as a North American capital, the city is bilingual. English is the first language of a majority of the population, but French is the first of a significant number. Ottawa started as a humble lumber town, and then called Bytown, named after Colonel John By. Colonel By oversaw the construction of the Rideau Canal, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, much of which was done by hand, between 1826 and 1832. In 1857, Queen Victoria chose Ottawa as the capital of Canada. Ottawa is a pleasant town that is known for its festivals (particularly its Tulip Festival), Winterlude (billed as "America's greatest winter festival "), numerous museums and overall pleasantness. Winterlude is Ottawa's unique winter festival that takes place every year in the month of February. People from all over the world come to Ottawa to take part in this amazing event. Here are some of the activities that have taken place in previous years: Skating on the Rideau Canal Annual Bed Race Public Ice-Carving Challenge Capital Loggers displays and special activities Snowflake Kingdom and so much more! Gatineau National Park, just across the river in Quebec Province, is a delightful place to visit any time of the year, but in autumn the changing colors of of its forests makes it one of the most beautiful places in the world. Its Gothic revival suite of buildings serves as the home of the Parliament of Canada and contains a number of architectural elements of national symbolic importance. Parliament Hill attracts approximately 3 million visitors each year.

Lake Louise is located on the Bow River in Banff National Park. It is named after the Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of the Marquess of Lorne, who was the Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.In 1882, Tom Wilson, one of the specialists who built the Canadian Pacific Railway in the area of Laggan (former name of lake Louise station), once heard a distant noise, and an Indian guide explained to him that this noise is made by a huge "white mountain", towering over "a lake with small fish". When Tom Wilson went there the next morning, he found a beautiful lake surrounded by majestic Rocky mountains, with snow-capped peaks and bright green forests on the picturesque slopes. He later recalled: "for a while we sat in silence, unable to take our eyes off the brilliant beauty of the landscape that unfolded at the glittering glacier."This lake is one of the most beautiful places in Canada. Since 1892, when the Lake Louise area was added to Banff National Park, the settlement has been administered by various government agencies. It is a famous tourist resort and recreation centre.A variety of hiking trails exist around the lake. Hiking trails include trips to Saddleback Pass, Fairview Mountain, Mirror Lake, Lake Agnes, Big Beehive, Little Beehive, Devils Thumb, Mount Whyte, and Mount Niblock. Some of these trails are open to mountain biking and horseback riding, and the surrounding mountain faces offer opportunities for rock climbing. Kayaking and canoeing are popular activities during summer, and a boat launch and rental facility are maintained on the north-eastern shore. The nearby Lake Louise Ski Area, known as Lake Louise Mountain Resort, offers amenities for alpine and Cross-country skiing, as well as heli-skiing and snowboarding. The lake can be used for ice fishing and ice skating in winter. The surrounding area offers settings for snowmobiling, dog sledding, snowshoeing and ice climbing.

Exactly city Winnipeg pushed him to this idea: "When you are here for the fist time it may seem that this city is filled with emptiness, but in the fact it's filled with creative energy".

Ottawa's Parliament Hill stands high above the Ottawa River and is graced by the Neo-Gothic-style Parliament buildings built in the last half of the 19th century. The most prominent feature is the Peace Tower, which divides the House of Commons and the Senate on either side. In front of the Parliament buildings is the Centennial Flame, lit in 1966 to commemorate the centenary of the Canadian Confederation, and behind the buildings is a sculpture garden.

In the summer, the Changing of the Guard takes place on the front lawn of the Houses of Parliament, weather permitting. Below Parliament Hill, a lovely walk runs alongside the Ottawa River.

CN Tower is the symbol of Toronto and the tallest building in the world in 1976–2007. The height of the CN Tower is 553.33 m. Today, the tower remains the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, it is twice as high as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and 13 meters above the Russian Ostankino TV tower. It was built on April 2, 1975 - the construction of the tower began in 1973 and was completed in a couple of years.

Initially, the tower belonged to the Canadian company Canadian National Railway, which gave it a name. At the request of local residents, the name was retained even after the purchase of the building by another company - Canada Lands. In 2007, the tower acquired a special illumination consisting of 1330 LEDs glowing in the colors of the Canadian flag. On holidays, other colors are added.

At an altitude of 380 meters, there is an observation deck with a glass floor that can withstand loads of up to 110 kg per 1 cm². Visitors to the site are delivered by high-speed elevators moving at a speed of about 22 km / h. Traveling to a height takes 58 seconds. Being in Toronto and not visiting the CN Tower has long been considered bad form, so it is logical that the number of tourists climbing the tower every year reaches 2 million people. Would you like to visit this beautiful place?
