Staring at his screen for hours, shocked to see what his friends has posted. His face was turning red and his eyes were tearing up. His fingers rushing across the keyboard begging his friends to take down an embarrassing picture of him. He didn’t care about anything around him, or what happened at all. All his attention was in a whole different world just inside a device. Social media can be very dangerous to teens and can cause some serious damage.

Overall, the point is that technology may be addicting, which is bad for this generation. It is bad because it can distract us from school work and you might get bad grades which can cause you to drop out of school. One solution you can do is ask your parent to change the password of your device or pc, which can stop you from too much screen time. This can make you do your work, study, and try to get better grades, if you happen to fail your classes.

First of all, the media can cause depression. According to source #2, on paragraph 7, the author states, "Sometimes, though, outside factors such as social media can affect mood or worsen depression." This is important to consider because cyber bullying has been linked to suicide. Depression is on the rise among teens and social media is just encouraging it.

Lastly, one effect is that technology is harming our education. We are used to going online everyday that it is part of our life. This generation have been on the screen more than going to school. According to source one, paragraph 5, “The average teenager spends more than 53 hours a week in front of a screen-nearly eight hours everyday.” We go to school for al least 6 hours not including lunch because in those 6 hours, we are learning to advance in our society and live a great life. You might even spend more time on your device and not be sleeping while your parents think you are sleeping.

In addition another effect of excessive screen time is body disorder. According to source #2, paragraph 9, the author states, “Young women, in particular, are bombarded with images of perfect bodies.” For these reasons women are expected to look a certain way and eat a certain way. This is important to consider because it sets beauty standards way too high. Teenagers compare their bodies with filtered images, the body image they strive for is unattainable.
