Not only did I use other pencil-like materials which im normally comfortable with, but I used paint and watercolor, which I have never done before. I struggled with the paint and watercolor, but I also learned a lot from it. I learned how to blend watercolors with trial and error, as well as paint evenly across the top of my cardboard bricks using patience and technique. As I continue my journey with art I would like to paint more and possibly try using oil pastel. One day I hope to have a piece of my own art in a gallery or hung up in my home. While listening to music by Jimi Hendrix, your mind tends to wonder off on its own path due to the lack of lyrics. The first beats of the song remind me of the jungle, So I added the main praying mantis in the center of the piece to light it up and give it the main character. Its a very colorful song with different moods, so theres a different twist everywhere you look. towards the bottom we have a nice beach scene and as you go up it gets more chaotic. I started the bottom with lighter materials and started using heavier materials such as sharpie as i got to the top. The cards that i received where the endocrine system and the nervous system. bot of these systems are responsible for anxiety and fear which is what the painting is based around. in todays society there are a lot of teens suffering from depression and anxiety which is what this piece represents. The snake and the apple was a tattoo my mom wanted me to design for her before she passed away. The tattoo would have been the snake wrapped around the apple. Because I never had the opportunity to make that tattoo for her, I decided to include it in my art piece.
