Tasmania police runs a background check on all of its applicants. Failure to meet the background check requirements will result in a automatic cancellation of the application

Education
Applicants must have completed, at a minimum, year 10.

Citizenship
Applicants must have a citizenship or hold a Australian permenant residency

Fitness
Applicants will be required to maintain a healthy level of cardio fitness and physical strength in order to meet the physical requirements of the job.

License
Applicants must hold a current manual driver license.

Medical
you will be required to undertake a medical evaluation. This will include a self-evaluation, an evaluation by a General Practitioner (GP), optometrist and audiologist.

Tattoos and body piercing
Having a tattoo will not affect the application as long as it's not a offensive tattoo in any language or facial tattoo.

Communication
As a police officer you will be expected to communicate clearly, effectively, in a professional manner and negotiate confidently.
