We made our second visit to our Romanian partner within the framework of our Colors project. On Tuesday, March 15, our activities started with a dance show prepared by the students in the school garden and a traditional welcome at the door, bread and salt service. Afterwards, we visited the classrooms one by one and participated in various activities prepared by the students.

In the first classroom , a poster with the names, flags and maps of the countries was prepared on the board. The students sticked the images they prepared on the map. The students asked the guests various questions about their countries and learnt new information about those countries.

In the second class we entered, letters were given mixed to the 4th graders. The children made up their country names. Then each country in turn taught the children to greet in their own language.

In the next class, the teacher started the lesson with a song, the students read fairy tales. The teacher asked questions about the fairy tale, and the students, knowing the answers, filled in the puzzle on the board.

In the fourth classroom , country flags and bird pictures were prepared. The teacher had a puppet in his hand. According to the tale, this puppet was traveling around the country in a backpack and it took a box out of his bag. There were papers in the box. There were numbers on the papers. There were numbers in front of the flags hanging on the board. Students would draw numbers from the box. The number opposite the flag is written whichever country it is. And the student pasted the name he wrote on the opposite side of the flag. Birds cut from flags came out of the bird in the bag. Behind the birds was a question about that country. The student read the question and then stuck the bird against the flag of whatever country it belongs to. In another class, there were maps and magnetic letters in front of the students. The flags of each country were prepared on the tables. The student wrote the name and capital of the country that has a flag in magnetic letters. In the last classroom , the course was English. The teacher started the song about the alphabet and every child learned the alphabet by continuing this song, which is in the form of a nursery rhyme. Then they played menti. They learned the word welcome in the language of every country. The teachers of that country were invited to the stage. Each teacher said welcome in their own language on the stage, and the students repeated it. The children were asked how much they liked this activity by mentee voting and they were allowed to self-evaluate.Thus, all students and teachers at the school actively participated in our project, cultural exchange between countries was experienced and many activities related to verbal intelligence, which is our project topic, were learned.

We visited the mayor of the city in his Office and got information about the various aspects of the city.

16 March 2022 -2nd Day

On the second day of our visit, our project meeting started with classical music concerts, ballet and gymnastics performances. Then our project meeting was held. At this meeting, the activities carried out so far were evaluated, deficiencies were determined and ideas were exchanged about the next process.

It was decided that the tale, which is our common product, should be continued, that each country would continue the tale in its own order and that it would be finished by June 2023.

It was decided to share the story on the Google drive link. In the April activities of the project, it was decided to design clothes from waste materials and carry out this activity with the partners until the activity in May.

Apart from the Vivaldi events prepared by Spain, where visual intelligence will be studied, our project will combine painting and music; It was stated that the students would be introduced to google chrome music app with the question of whether you would like to hear the sound of the picture. Google chrome music application was introduced to the project team by Mehtap Kılıç.
Later in the conference room Senior Lecturer PHD Ioana Cristelecan / University of Oredea, Romania gave a lecture on Creative Reading .
She talked about the importance of encouraging students to love reading books and identifying the child’s reading style.Each child has a type of book and it is very significant to discover that to make her love reading in her life.She underlined that while evaluating the students’ understanding a book, not to prefer traditional methods.On the contrary she advised two different techniques:
Diamond method:
The student can be asked about the title of the story, the characteristics of the characters, the action, the key sentence and the key word.
Quadrans Method
The student can be asked questions such as the words that remained in his mind, what he liked, what you did not like, how would you change the ending.

Spanish partners gave information about the next mobility at the meeting.They asked the other partners to be prepared for two presentation in Spain; one is about a tradition of our countries and the other one is about the best activity we have done in these two years at our schools.

17 March 2022/ 3rd Day

On the last day of our visit, we visited the University and the City Library. It was mentioned that the types of intelligence in the education are very essential , each student learns differently and that we need to focus on the student himself or herself in order to succeed.The lecturer made various activities. For example, she gave a word and asked us to find compatible words. She also played a memory game and asked questions about the pictures she showed for ten seconds.

Since our project topic is verbal intelligence, 3 different libraries were visited.We watched the students’ activities in the libraries.They read poems in different languages.

Our visit in Romania was full of beneficial and effective activities concerning with our project topic multiple intelligences. We got to know our very hospitable and friendly Romanian partners.We are thankful for the unforgettable moments in Romania.
