4. Korea becomes a campaign issue in the 1952 presidential election. Eisenhower pledges to go to Korea to end the war. VP candidate Nixon contends Democrats had caved into communists in Korea and that Democrat presidential candidate Stevenson should be called "Adlai the Appeaser"

5. South Korea and North Korea formally re-established the division of Korea. A formal peace treaty was never signed. Because the United States supplied South Korea and the USSR supplied North Korea. The USSR did this so they could spread there goverment communism. And the united states did this to stop communism. this connects to the present day because even now the Korea borders are the same.
