Racial violence has littered the United States’ history through bombings and shootings. Having to hide one’s identity in order to be safe, secure, and successful is something that many individuals face for reasons spanning from religious affiliation to sexual orientation. Symbols of hate are varied and are used to separate and intimidate others. Final Thought: While watching, it is easy to forget that BlacKkKlansman is a movie that is based on true events. Letting the comedic relief portions of the movie drive the storyline can distract viewers from the severity of the themes shown throughout.
