Top-down is the interpretation into a sensation, and bottom-up sensation is the basic sensation of stimuli. A sensation is a small stimulus that is sensed by the brain 50 percent of the time, and different animals have different levels of sensation.

I can understand the difference between absolute subliminal and difference threshholds.Selective attention is when a person is only focused on one thing. Inattentional blindness is when you ignore other things in order to focus on one thing. Change blindness is when you don't realize that something is changed. Absolute threshhold is the smallest amount of stimulus we can detect. Just noticeable difference is Webber's Law which is the amount something must be changed to detect stimulus 50 percent of the time. Subliminal thresshold is the underlying message that a person perceives.

The retina has cones and rods in it. The cones see colors while the rods see black and white. There is a blindspot on the retina where you can't see anything because there are no rods and cones. It is the ability to respond to something that is not visually perceived. The optic nerve carries visual information to the thalamus and to the occipital lobe from there. The rods outnumber the cones 20 to 1, and The ganglion cells are M cells and Parvo cellular. Visual accuity is how much you can see. The shortest wavelengths are violet and indigo, and red and green wavelengths are the longest.
