         <description><![CDATA[<div> <br><br></div><div>During the lab I will be trying to figure out the answers to the following question.  What are enzymes?  What are their roles in chemical reactions?  Describe what happened to test tube 2 when hydrogen peroxide was added to the liver.  What gas was produced?  What liquid was left behind?  What effect does the red-hot wood have on test tube 4? WHY is the flame being produced? What effect does temperature have on the enzymes (Test tube 5)?<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> <br><br></div><div>First your going to add 2 cm of water to one test tube then place a small amount of live into the test tube filled with water. No reaction should occur. In the second test tube place 2 cm of peroxide and then place a small amount of liver into the peroxide. Bubbles should start to foam once this step is complete. In the third test tube your going to put 2 cm of peroxide and then light a splint. The splint if going to burn for 1-2 seconds. After the splint has burned for 1-2 seconds you’re then going to place it inside the test tube with peroxide. The splint should go out, showing that peroxide is not flammable. In the final test tube your going to fill it up about 2cm full of peroxide. Then add the liver, you’re going to light a splint and then place it in the test tube. The foamy mixture should start to catch on fire due to oxygen being present in the mixture.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the first test tube no reaction occurred but in the second test tube when the liver was placed in the peroxide a foamy mixture began to form. When the splint was lit and placed in the third test tube it was immediately put out. The final test tube had a major reaction. Once the liver was placed into the peroxide, the foamy mixture began. Once the foamy mixture was done expanding  and the splint was lit once again, the splint caused the foamy mixture to catch one fire.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the first test tube no reaction occurred but in the second test tube when the liver was placed in the peroxide a foamy mixture began to form. There wasn’t any liquid formed just bubbles when this reaction occurred. The flame was produced because oxygen was present causing the foamy mixture to catch on fire. When the enzymes become too hot they begin to change shape and tighten up. This also happens when the Ph becomes too high for the enzyme to tolerate.<br><br></div>]]></description>
