The 4th grade classes read the book "Anne Frank" and explored it with the help of a reading guide written by the school library. At the end of the book exploration activity, the library organised an online session with all the schools in the school group and applied a "Kahoot" on the book, rewarding the three best scoring schools with a gift of books. Congratulations to all!

The Portuguese school library team promoted a digital session with the classes of the elementary schools about the life of Anne Frank, following the reading by the 4th year students of the children's book “Little books about great people, Anne Frank”. It was found that the work was to the liking of the students and that they knew Anne Frank's biographical data very well, since they participated assertively in the dialogue carried out about the book, read under the activity “10 minutes to read”. They also watched an extraordinary biographical video under the responsibility of “Anne Frank House”, portraying the historical period that the young woman experienced and the conditions in which her family lived, pursued by the Nazis and hidden in the secret annex. https://www.annefrank.org/en/anne-frank/who-was-anne-frank/quem-foi-anne-frank/ Finally, simultaneously with the participating schools, a Kahoot quiz was presented about Anne Frank, inspired by the biographical elements of that work, which made the students participate with great joy. The results obtained were excellent!

During the day, several classes from different levels of education, accompanied by their respective HGP or history teachers, visited the exhibition and took photos with a poster associated with the online campaign Instagram#weremember. Year 6 students had the opportunity to read aloud excerpts from the book "The boys who fooled the Nazis" to their year 8 peers.

Also in the school library, the 9th A students, accompanied by the History teacher, watched the French film "A difficult class" which tells us about the memories of the Holocaust and its impact on today's youth. A film that leads us to reflect on human rights, inclusion and the challenges of education.

A day in which indifference towards one of the greatest human tragedies - the Holocaust - did not exist in the EBS of Canelas.
