The drawings are very attentive to the story so I think they will help her grasp the idea of what the book is about. This book could be a door that introduces her to an interest like her future job.

I picked the book “Broken Crayons Still Color” by Tony Collier because it does a great job at explaining feelings. I think this book would be good for any child, but I chose it more specifically for Rory since she likes to color. I think the crayons being personalized will intrigue her.

I picked the book "There’s a WOCKET in my Pocket" by Dr. Seuss because it’s a rhyming book. Since Rory is a good reader I think she will be able to read it at a pace where it’s fun for her. It will be a way for her to focus on her reading speed instead of the concept of the book. The book also has funky illustrations which I am sure she will enjoy.

I picked the book “ Where Are You From?” By Jaime Kim because she can relate to it. This book could be a mirror to her life since she is first generation. She could also probably relate to what the main character is going through. This book can make her feel seen and represented.
